Guys, do you open easily about your feelings and emotions?

Hey guys!

I've been talking, flirting, sexting with this guy since a long while now.

It's been getting serious. Calling each others cute nicknames, flirting more on public and stuff. Even our friends around started to notice how close we are.

I took the first step and shared with him that I have feelings for him, and I asked how he feels. He told me everything was serious to him.

We haven't talked about being together officially. It feels difficult to talk more about serious feelings with him and it takes him a while to give me an answer.

Should I stop pursuing something with him or give him more time? Is it difficult for you guys to open up about your feelings and emotions?

I know this for the guys, but I have a lot of experience with guys so I thought I would chime in here if it's ok.
I believe in this case if the two of you are going to talk about your feelings for each other, you really should do it in person.
I say that because reading written words about something so serious could easily be taken the wrong way, or lose meaning.

If you do it in person you get the full on depth of what the person is saying.
The other issue that some guys have is that when they start sharing things about themselves, some people use it against them when the opportunity arises. I've heard guys tell me that has happened to them before and that's why they might not open up so easily. They use caution.

You already know not to push this guy about sharing his feelings. I don't need to tell you that.
But seriously, wait to do it until you can do it in person. It would make a huge difference.

So, this will most likely not be the most popular thing anyone says about this, but here goes: Don't expect him to behave like a woman.

Men, in general, process very differently than women. It is especially difficult when it is there is no actual physical contact to be able to meet a man's needs adequately, so the sexting had better be damn good! Give him the space to be him, get to know how he processes emotions and meet him there. Chances are, he loves the way you do or he wouldn't still be around. So, you're obviously doing something right. Now figure out how to speak his language to him.

Also, pay close attention to what the guys say in their answers to your question here... close attention and think about it and how it applies to your guy and you. Wishing you luck and happiness to both of you!

I don't share my feelings with a lot of people because I think no one would understand them so what's the point. I don't want to sound like a whiner.

But this is different than your situation. You're in a relationship and it's about whether or not there are romantic feelings. If you don't feel he is responding to your overture, give him some reasonable amount of time to reciprocate. If he doesn't it probably means that he's not feeling the same things you are. In that case you can continue with him as a kind of friendship or you can abandon the relationship and move on.

I struggle sometimes with being open about my feelings, while other times it is easy. Just know that, while your potential partner is slow with his responses just be patient on an answer / not clingy & not pushy, just wait.

Don’t split it off with this guy, you two have gotten so close that your friend group noticed. Maybe one day set him down and say you are ready to take the next step with him: Being his girlfriend.

You flirt, you sext, and you get along with him in person / have that special connection & really click so… Date him! That is my advice.

Depends on the connection I have with the girl , My first question to you is , Have you met him in person yet? Or is this just someone you been talking to that you met from the internet? If you haven’t met him yet , then he more than likely isn’t going to open up completely to you because he really doesn’t know you to well as of yet , just because you have good conversations with someone and you think you have great chemistry with someone , that doesn’t really mean shit until you actually meet them and break the ice with each other. If you both already met in person , then , he might be not telling you something about himself or his situation , When a guy really likes a girl he has no problem opening up to her and being honest with her as much as possible , so if he isn’t really opening up to you , than he might be hiding something from you

You know when you go to a restaurant and they arrive with your food and it surprises you how much better it looks than you expected it to? "Oh wow."
For some men that is a huge emotional display, and as much as you'll ever get out of them for anything.

You just have to judge your man here. He'll have his own levels for showing everything in subtile behaviors or twitches (if he is more serious like he says he is). Learn his ticks and remember them or you might miss that corner mouth raise when you impress him. (My personal fav)

Guys tend to not be open with their own feelings. But if you don't want to be in this unlabelled relationship you shouldn't start them or be prepared to always be uncertain. I would say give him a bit of time but after a few weeks if he still know or won't tell you just end it. These things with guys, they usually aren't serious, it's just stress release for them.

One thing I’ve noticed about guys because of my brother is that society still has this outdated idea that men shouldn’t show any emotions except for happiness and anger. With that being so ingrained into men from a young age, it can be difficult to work past that.

Yes its easy, also thats something that friends should be doing, so if you can't be open and honest with eachother, then you shouldn't already be at the flirting stage.

You're doing socializing backwards, get them to open up first, learn everything about eachother, if that goes well, THEN express romantic interest.
