I'm friendly with most people. Quiet with people I liked. So I guess just polite and sometimes silly back. No harm in socializing for a moment with someone who might like you. It's a nice feeling being found attractive.

I've very careful not to flirt back if I'm not single or not interested for other reasons. I do not want her to get the idea that I am. Fortunately, women generally get the hint when a guy doesn't flirt back.

No. Have no idea why anyone would do that. There's nothing more uncomfortable than someone you're not interested in flirting with you. The only thing I can think about in those situations is that I want to get out of there.
