Have there been a compliment you received that made you smile and or it changed your day? What was that compliment?

I worked with a German company for a short time. When I left, the head of the group paid me a compliment that really made my day. He said that I was the most professional engineer he had ever met. Knowing how detailed Germans are and how much they follow rules and procedures, that was some compliment.

I told a guy I studied at the same school as him and he asked me if I was doing my PhD, that was the most flattering compliment I’ve ever gotten. When people compliment my face or my personality, I don’t care that much.

As an American living and working in the SW of England, I've had many female customers tell me they could listen to me talk all day because they love my accent. What was nice about it is that it felt like more a genuine compliment and not like a "I want to jump your bones" type thing.

Anything physical just makes me uncomfortable. The best compliments are about how someone feels in my presence or something like “I love your energy” etc.
