So let’s say you say to a guy something like “I love your mustache. It accentuates your nice smile.” Is that considered flirting or just a nice compliment?

If a girl said it I would take it as flirty but it’s not always. Look don’t be scared to complement somebody if they get the wrong idea just be super kind and talk to him to say that’s not how you meant it.

If you do like somebody also be direct and tell him keep in mind that everyone’s flirting styles are different. Sometimes someone seems like he/she is flirting just to find out they’re not while other times, you would never guess someone’s flirting but they think it’s obvious. Not to mention so many people waste and waste time on someone whose not into them.

Well considering women don't do that I'd have to assume it's flirting. Women don't typically compliment a guy without an ulterior motive.
