How to approach him when I’m nervous?

So this guy in my class in university caught my attention recently. It was presentation day and we had to present our project in front of the class in our groups and the guy was getting ready to present. I unintentionally looked at him and we both locked eyes, so I quickly looked away and then we did it again and I looked away (I’m not good at holding eye contact). I honestly didn’t mean to look at him but it just happened and I’ve seen him before but I just thought he was cute. I don’t know if he meant to look at me either but the fact that we both looked at each other twice at the same time. Suddenly, he tells his group to spread out and guess what he decides to come and stand right in front of my table where I was sitting ( I was in the front row). The other groups that went up before his just stood together in one bundle but he decided to spread out. As he was walking toward my area I kept my gaze down as I was nervous to make eye contact again, now he stands in front of me and in the corner of my eye he is looking at me but since I’m looking elsewhere he turns back after a few seconds. Honestly, I wanted to look at him 😂but he was right in front of me so it felt awkward too and was intimidated by his confidence. How can I approach him and show that I’m interested? I feel like guys usually make the first move but I’d like to try
