To clarify I am (24F) and these guys were around my age and male.

I was standing at a crosswalk at night waiting to cross (this is a college town) and there were a group of like 5 guys sort of next to me also waiting to cross. I see one guy looking at me out of the corner of my eye and then I hear "How are you” I respond “good” and then another guy (his friend I’m assuming) says “what are you up to tonight” to which I say “not much” and he just kinda awkwardly repeats “not much...” and then I walk away asap when the light turns green lmao.

I was pretty flustered and confused because I don’t get flirted very often at all. I'm also not good at picking up on social cues. Was this flirting or just being friendly? I'm assuming I did not give off a very welcoming energy?

This is not flirting but a miserable and clumsy attempt to pick you up. Depending on what your reaction would have been, they would have had no compunction to get you were they wanted and then you would have had to pay a high price, perhaps more than what you were ready to bargain for.

Those guys are creeps and perverts, nothing less. They gang up on girls and try to attract them to a dark place and then I leave it to your imagination what will happen.

Best is of course not to answer to those types of guys that are perverts.

Like, I do think they were flirting, but you are right. They definitely could have meant to do something absolutely horrible. SA is actually a problem on college campuses. 😭
