I was in a college group project with a woman. She’d done a drawing of what we were doing, but it wasn’t required. She joked that it might give us extra marks. We then talked about another group, and I jokingly asked her if they’d done a drawing as well. She smiled back and said “I don’t think they did” in a playful tone while shaking/wiggling her hips for a second or two. Could this movement have been subtle flirting? Or was it just playfulness/engaging in the conversation?

No, that did not mean anything out of the ordinary. Some people express themselves differently from others and she simply did shake and wiggle her hips. Nothing out of the ordinary here.

I think that you have a crush on that girl or are infatuated with her and you take every sign, every detail as a potential signal that she returns your crush. It is not the case and you should move on. There is nothing hidden, no secret message that could be interpreted in a way that she implied that she liked you more than anyone else.

It is simply your imagination wanting something.
