Why does life tease people with potential love interests who aren't actually, at all?

I mean why even lock eyes with an attractive stranger when you realise over time there's a reason they're single just from having observed them you realise "oh, it's because X Y Z, no wonder they're single and no one flirts with them" - there's always reasons 🙃 😋

Like a person can look ordinary like you or me, or I could look ordinary like you and turn out to be a secular Muslim, a secular Jewish man, a secular Orthodox Christian, I have a health condition, a mental condition, blah blah blah blah
And thats what I mean, people can seem like a tease when I think to myself "how the hell is that hot woman single and nobody is even trying to flirt with her" .

I think what happens is too many people make a fantasy in their head of who someone is before they even know them. As well as confirmation bias when people are looking for signs instead of neurally observing them.
