Is it normal to feel cringe or ridiculous when making romantic gestures?

I can't even express interest in a woman without feeling weird or cringe about it. How is anyone supposed to take you seriously?

It’s normal if you’re not used to it. Especially if you’re used to expressing things verbally. I had the same issue, but I never felt cringe doing romantic gestures/actions, it was only when I had to say it out loud that felt cringe or awkward.

Do you feel cringe at the thought of saying/doing the romantic things itself or do you cringe at the thought of doing it for a certain woman?

I think it depends on the person. Like, my 'love language' is gift giving or acts of service. So for me, romantic gestures feel normal especially since my boyfriend is the same. My ex was the opposite, his love language was touch/feel and he said that romantic gestures werent his forte and made him nervous, which is ok. Not everyone loves the big gestures. However, I think small gestures like picking a flower for her, or taking her out to a nice lunch/ice cream, can go a long way!

Also, to note, my ex was never overly romantic with me, but he is with his current girlfriend (who has been with for 5 years now).

If one isn't completely available for having the time, space and money for a relationship - if one is still single and living at home for example or not living alone and stable ; then what do they have to offer lol 💭😆 no wonder women are picky. Not a dig at you bro, I'm in the boat of being single and not having my own place nor even my own car. It takes some degree of role play for everyone. No one is born with the social skills to hit on the opposite ( or same, I guess) sex. It takes courage and imagining you are someone other than the person you currently perceive yourself to be.

it's normal cause your mind instantly reminds you of all the ways this gesture can be missunderstood or end up being awkward cause you don't want to be awkward. you can mitigate this by being completely fine with being awkward or cheesy.
