When I have a partner, I avoid trying to give them a hickey. I don't care for them myself either. Neck kisses don't even feel that great to me. I'm not big on showing that I've marked my partner either and I'd hope they feel the same.

For high school kids, its immature and makes you look slutty. I remember this girl was a huge hoe (she was a friend of a friend) she had a new boyfriend every week and came to school like that often. I would make fun of her sometimes like "oh this week 'Steve' got her, they should start signing their own hickeys lol" since she would have multiple from different guys and the whole school knew she was sleeping with them. I like them. It's a little bit satisfying marking someone and being marked back. Physically I'm a pretty clingy guy and I like clingy girls so for me hickeys are part of the love language. Think of it as the step between dating and proposing. Hickeys while dating rings when engaged. XD

I don’t bruise, never had one. I had the same excavator operator loosen a basketball sized rock off a cliff that drilled the back of my left calf. Then a month later he hit me with a softball sized tree I had fell which slung me ten feet into a bush. I left that forestry job, back to my point I have never had a visible hematoma nor a hickey.

Be careful you can actually mistakenly kill somebody by giving hickeys because it cause blood clots which can lead to a stroke. Mostly occurs though in people with underly health issues.
