Recently, there’s been a girl at my grocery store job that always waves at me. I’ve never seen her before, until now and I’ve never interacted with her. This is pretty common in some cultures to call someone darling, honey or love. There is absolutely nothing to overthink here.

I believe that you would have wanted her to have a crush on you or to flirt with you but I can reassure you, there is nothing of the sort behind someone calling a customer love or honey. Even in hospitals, nurses do call their patients darling or honey and nobody thinks for one second that the nurse is trying to flirt with the patient.

That is just so innocent and has absolutely no deep meaning. You can rest reassured.
