Did this older man just invite me to a date?

So here's the thing, I was a teacher at a private school (I am no longer working there since the end of May, but I'll get to that later) and I taught one of his children for ten months.

Here are some signs, that I noticed:

- Sometimes we talk during recess and he opens up a lot. He tells me about his struggles and I feel like he feels seen when I react.

- He remembers small details about me (the place where I was born, my previous workplaces), and he brings them up randomly, like "I've been near [the place I was born] in the weekend.

- Whenever he thinks he's done something wrong he apologizes a lot, like three times in a row.

- He offers me his help for even the smallest things.

- Whenever we talk online about school themed things, he always asks me if I'm okay.

- Once I talked to him a lot and since I was kind of annoyed by myself, I joked about it saying I talk too much, and he just told me that he likes my voice.

- I often catch him watching me from the corner of my eye when I pass him by or when I do something else outside of the classroom.

- He told me many times he's very sorry that we cannot meet during summer break,

- But as soon as I said I'm not going to work there anymore, he invited me to a festival which is at the end of the summer.

I don't know what to think or feel about this. I didn't consider these things as flirting when they happened but after he invited me I started to think more and more and I would like to hear your opinions about how should I approach the situation.

Is he just being kind or did he invite me to a date? We have 10 years of age gap.
