- lack of communication

- lack of empathy

- poor body hygiene

- having a beard

- tattoos and piercings

- too much emphasis on the unimportant things of life

- drugs and addictions

- bossy and commanding

- lack of respect towards others and animals

- history of sexualization and objectification of women

- criminal record

The list goes on and on. One of the topic I have not mentioned here is obviously the fact that a man is usually ruled by his testosterone and that is not acceptable to me. I would not want a relationship with a man who only thinks with his genitals.

I don’t think I had the best radar for those red flags.
When I showed my first boyfriend’s and my photo to other girls, they all said “You can say he’s a player, man who looks the way he does - cannot not be a player. Look at his eye.”

I still believe he wasn’t a player. But obviously a lot of women would think he was just based on his looks.

The second one - Everyone told me he was a bad news too. My mom told me to stop dating men all the women like and go for someone who loves me more than I do love him. We ended up falling in love but he wasn’t a good news either…

I think my radar is broken, I get attracted to the men I shouldn’t be getting attracted to.

However, I loved them both and they loved me and at 80, when I look back I know for sure I won’t have any regrets…

Actually I can’t wait to be 80, so that I can tell my grandchildren what a great life I’ve lived.

But that comes with a lot of not so safe choices. But life is not the safe choices we make.

Maybe I saw the red flags and went for them anyway, since red is my favorite color.

I learned I a have a talent of attracting red flags, even a talent to tame them, but I do get wounded in the process and it’s no longer worth it.

(Looking back I don't think I knew about red flags in my 20s... it was more just a "vibe" a guy gave off. I hung out with a lot of guys bc of my major and there were just guys who were "icky" personalities and others with "chill" personalities... then the smarties (my faves) and the crazy/twitchy/hyper guys (ooof).)
