Flirting exists because people need to test the waters to see if the one being flirted with responds to the advances. I am aware that flirting is a stupid thing because we all know that the definition of "flirting" means

"a sexual behavior involving spoken or written communication, as well as body language, by one person to another, to suggest interest in a deeper relationship with the other person".

Now, the interest in a deeper relation needs no explanation at all. It simply means that the person flirting is interested in getting into the pants of the victim and then discards that victim once the deed is done.

That is the sole purpose of those hookup sites.

If your supervisor flirts with you, then he wants to get into your pants but does not have the courage to tell you directly.
