Am I playing it too safe with women and blocking my own dating chances?

I've been single my whole life because I've always played it safe with women, hiding any interest or trying my best not to confuse flirting with being nice and that usually leaves me confused on how women feel about me. The only guarantee time I'll flirt with a woman is if she's throwing very clear signs she's interesting in me but that's basically the rarest thing to think of for me.. I'm not the worst looking guy, I'd say maybe a strong 6. I'm 6'3, always been told I'm funny but it has never lead to anything.. what can I do about this?

Abso-fucking-lutely.

Women want to feel to feel seen, understood, and special. You don't make them feel that way by acting nonchalant. You're literally doing the opposite of what women want.

Plus, the vast majority of women approach relationships passively. You need to let them know you're interested so that they can feel secure in showing their own interest.

Sure, you're going to face a lot more rejection if you act proactively, but you're also creating exponentially more opportunities for yourself in the process.

If you're interested in a woman, SHOW DIRECT INTEREST.

I just wish every now & again a woman would do the pursuing to or once. I know it's not "traditional" but I see women shoot their shots at guys they want all the time, especially around me

Prob. yes and, it is better to have this realization now than years later, my advice would be to express interest so she can say yes or no, and just be aware, most likely she will so say , but if you picture it like you have to get through ten nos to get to a yes, every no you get is a step closer. JMO!

It sounds to me that you are sabotaging yourself by keeping interests hidden. If you do that you won't have many options.

Would you want every girl to hide their feelings about you?

I understand that I guess my main problem is I don't want to feel like im putting women on the spot or don't want to be feel like a burden

Your experience is your answer. Clearly playing it safe has not benefited you when you have nothing to show for it, you’ve had no success with women.

be friendly and ask tell her if you like her clothes or eyes or whatever. just be honest. say you like talking with her. then you did your part if you like her and she needs to her part.
