Signs a guy is interested over text?

I just started texting with this guy I met on Facebook. He lives near me and reached out first. He texts SO MUCH, like paragraphs, and sends me voice notes. From the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to bed, I hear from him. He sends me pictures of himself sometime, and it’s always relevant to the conversation, but they’re really good pictures of him. He also apologizes when he doesn’t text for a while and gives me reasons why, even though he doesn’t owe me an explanation.
The reason I’m asking is because he never flirts or asks to meet. So I’m wondering if it’s normal for a guy to do these things or if it means anything. Maybe it’s just too early but I’m used to guys at least being a little flirty when they’re interested.
I really like him so far but I don’t want to catch feelings if I’m just misinterpreting his behaviors.

I’ll be honest, this sounds a bit red flaggy. Already I’m not a fan of men who randomly slide into your DMs, because it’s likely that he messaged multiple women in his area as well. You just happen to be the one (or one of the women) who replied. Before you defend him, just understand that this is very much a thing. I’ve answered several questions on this site within the past 2-3 months alone where men have confessed to messaging multiple random women, and asking us for feedback on their experiences.


I don’t like that this guy seems to be love-bombing you with so much attention, because this usually turns out to be a disingenuous feat, and more of a method to lower your guard to gain your trust. If I were you, I’d certainly be asking him what his intentions are for talking to you. Rather than going with the flow and allowing your feelings for him to become progressively deeper, you don’t want this to all be a waste of time. You also don’t seem to wanna be his pen pal, so ask him what he wants, so you can determine what he’s actually interested in. Like if it’s not a relationship or to date, is it casual sex? I’d want to know.

There’s a good chance he likes you. Men aren’t usually talkative. We don’t like to talk as much whether in person or through text. Women are more social, talking comes more natural to women. Him texting all this time from main up till sundown is basically what we as men do in the beginning of a potential relationship. We show interest in your personal life, a lot of times we don’t care about that stuff but we have to pretend to otherwise most women aren’t going to continue this conversation if he’s just talking about sex or himself. I’m not saying 100% of men don’t care about women’s personal life, but a lot of us don’t. How is it that a man will remember a football game as far as the date, time, etc, but doesn’t remember things like anniversaries. Because more than likely it is t as important to him as it is to women. Now whether he really wants to be in a serious relationship w you or just sleep w you, that remains to be seen. I think too he hasn’t flirted or asked you out because he doesn’t want to seem like he’s coming on too strong, maybe he’s testing the waters to see how you respond to him.

I'm the opposite in terms of communicating. I've never been a texter, and I prefer calls. I don't know your relations with this guy, but I'd only put that kind of effort with someone I'm very interested in. He could just be a chatty Cathy.
