How do I show a nerdy online friend I like him without scaring him off?

I really like a nerdy who is my Facebook friend. He lives quite afar. I have never met him. Now he knocked me a couple of times and I did once too. I can tell attraction is there and he is interested in my life. But he never flirted or approached me that way, neither have I ever flirted with anyone, tbh. I am quite a nerd myself. So, how do I let him know that I'm interested in him without scaring him off?

Start posting things that hint at admiration... not obvious confessions, but moody quotes, song lyrics, or memes about having a crush on someone specific, without naming anyone. Let him wonder if it's him. It's an idea that crossed my mind. It's not a guarantee, but it gives him space to respond without pressure. And if he's interested, he'll likely ask.

You are not likely going to scare him off by flirting with him. If he is "stalking" you on your social media, that means that he is interested in you and but does not want to make the first move for whatever reason. Perhaps he is afraid to scare you off by attempting.

Just let him know that you are interested in him and see where it leads. I don't really think that this will negatively impact your online friendship.
