Do you think my close male friend likes me as more than a friend? Our families are extremely close—our moms are best friends and our dads are best friends—and he and I have gotten much closer over the past year. We can talk nonstop, constantly tease each other, have very similar humor, and are extremely comfortable together. He answers my calls really quickly, has repeatedly told me things like “let me take your pain away,” and when I apologized while helping him with something, he smiled and said, “Look at you being such a wonderful girl, apologizing when no one is even pressuring you to. That’s what makes you different.” His mom has told me that he says I’m different from other girls and has even said that he “loves me too much.” Recently, when my dad mentioned that I’m learning to drive, he immediately offered to teach me himself. However, he’s never directly told me he has romantic feelings or clearly asked me on a date, and because our families are so close, I know some of this could simply be deep friendship or family-like affection. Based on his behavior alone, does it sound like he might be developing romantic feelings for me, or is there not enough evidence yet?
