When working on a group project. I did find. some ways to solve and improve our work. A Male co-worker tells me :" WOw , your not just a pretty face"

Seems to be taken as a insult pretty often.

But... it's a COMPLIMENT! Why?

You're not JUST a pretty face. He doesn't know your personality very well right? Well all we know from people we don't know if how they look. Right?

Now he knows not only are you "just" a pretty face, but a smart girl too.

Being called pretty and smart. Try not to be too insulted :)

Ask him. I can't answer how he meant it. It is how you interpret it, but if you don't know, then ask.

I do feel you if you think that it sounded kinda insulting because it makes you wonder "did you think I was stupid or do I look stupid so that you needed THIS as a proof and NOW you know I'm not dumb?" but that's usually overthinking stuff, he was probably trying to flirt and/or be funny :-p

well, the thing is I was on a team where I was the youngest one . So I wasen't sure if I was being undermine due to my age.
