How long do you wait for a guy to make a move?

If you like him, how much time would you give him before you'd move on?

I'm quite shy so take a little time to feel comfortable with a girl before I tell her how I feel or make a move.

Been hanging out with a girl for 3 months now. We have only hung out a handful of times as we are both pretty busy. Would you expect a guy to ask you out by now or is this still OK to get to know each other more?

If you drop a frog in a boiling pot of water he'll just jump out. But if you raise the heat really slowly he'll be cooked before he realizes it's too late.

"Making a move" is the same thing... if you don't want to freak her out then simply escalate the intimacy slowly.

Here are some steps you could take from meeting her to kissing her. Each step is slightly more intimate than the next...

- Basic conversation

- Flirting & Laughing

- arm hitting, hip bumping

- Hugging hello and goodbye

- Sitting close side by side

- Holding intimate eye contact up close

- holding her hand to help her out of a car or up a step.

- holding her hand to help her through a crowded room (like you're keeping her safe and leading her to your table in a restaurant.)

- Sharing secrets and intimate stories

- Silly or fun sexual innuendo's

- whispering something in her ear, while letting your face touch hers

- holding and caressing her hands across a table while giving her a funny/fake palm reading

- holding hands while walking or sitting together watching a movie

- cuddling, spooning during a movie

- light kissing

Can you see how each step might lead to the next? Can you see how each step gives you both time to be comfortable with slightly more intimacy? I've found that most women I've dated are very comfortable moving through these steps, from meeting to kissing, from one to 3 dates.

Here's what's great about this... once she's shown she's comfortable with one step, all steps before it are fair game.

So if you kissed a girl, for example, you could then instantly do any of the previous steps without any hesitation or resistance from her.

Just be aware that when you take longer than 3 dates to achieve something as intimate as kissing, you're risking loosing her interest... unless she's already made her boundaries really clear. After 3 dates girls start to wonder if you're even interested...

It depends on how much she likes you back.

I'm in the same situation, there's this guy I like and he likes me back.

Guy that he is, however, has not yet asked me out.

There are loads of other guys who like me and some I like backish but not as much as I like him so I've kinda made it clear we're just friends.

Am I still waiting yeah.

Am I tired definitely.

Will I wait for much longer. yes.

But part of me is just dying to move on and

I just might.

So go ask her out.

The longer you wait the higher the chances are that she might end up unliking you :)

What's the worst that could happen.

You could realize that she's not as hot as she seems to be.

All girls are different. Sometimes we need that time too. I hung out with a guy for an entire month just talking alone before he asked what are we. I was fine letting things go their own way. Every relationship is different and some happen faster than others. It is perfectly okay (actually almost preferable) to go about this as you are.
