How long should someone wait before they make their move?

I started playing volleyball back in October and normally I played at my schools rec center but today I went to an open gym session where I could get more experience. I met this girl there who I thought was pretty, and I got her name, but that's all I got. I asked her if she was coming back to open gym and she said yes. I want to try and get to know her more (and to play volleyball), so I was planning on coming back as well. If I was going to ask her out, what would be a good way to do it, and generally how long should I wait?

Ask out without making it look like you're asking out. Just ask her to hangout with you as a friend, for spending time with her during your free time. Then when she hangs out with you, you can start getting to know more about her and eventually propose her

Plan a hangout with your friend, her friend, you and her as 4 people hangouts for some of the event or just somewhere interesting without making it obvious to her that you're particularly doing this for her. She will accept this hangout easily as it will look like a friends hangout. Then when you're hanging out, slowly start getting close with her, as a friend. Ask about her more and let her know more about you. Do like this for 4-5 hangouts. Then slowly, when she gets comfortable with you, propose her
