Is having a crush on someone a waste of time?

I see a lot of questions about crushes on here. People seem to put a lot of thought and emotion into them, yet rarely do they ever say they are going to approach that person. So unless a person decides to make a move, is it a waste of time?

It's only unnecessary to have a crush if it logically doesn't make sense to. That doesn't mean you won't but it's kind of stupid to

I met a bartender one day and I learned her name was Alexis. I turned to her and go "you said your name is Alexis, right?" "I drive A-Lexus". (I do, I actually drive a Lexus LS400 from 1992 and works like a baby). I knew right there I had an instant crush on her (she's hot). However, I would later find out, she's engaged (she's now married, earlier this month). I couldn't do anything about my crush but..I still had one

I wouldn't say a waste of time per say, maybe being hopeless? not exactly sure, but I like 2 guys and I only talk to one of them and would like to KNOW the other one...but that's just hoping, I'm too scared to speak with him, he will probably think I'm ugly but it is what it is. But its definitely not a waste of time =)

I figured that out in middle school so now I kinda don't crush on guys..I use to kinda follow them around and run into him but all I did was make eye contact not actuallt talk to him
