Am I annoying my crush?

Hi my name is Nicole and I am 21. I always think before I talk or hardly talk talk at all but when it comes to talking to my crush I over-share my thoughts. I am the one that mostly starts the conversation and his response are mostly OK. Also I have known this person for five years and he hardly talks. I have no idea if I am annoying him or he just hardly talks.

How do you know him?

If he's in a situation where he can't really get away from you, it's possible but from that alone I cannot say that you're annoying him. Looking at his environment, at whether it's possible for him to just leave you be, is a better indicator of whether he finds you annoying or not. :P

Maybe he's not trying because he thinks electronic comm isn't going to get him very far? I don't think he'd respond at all if he didn't care or if you were annoying because those military guys are pretty stressed/busy with their jobs. Perhaps he doesn't have enough time or likes to spend his time destressing with other methods. Maybe he's not that expressive with his emotions.. maybe he prefers games over girls.. hmm..

Once in a blue moon but most of the time I start a conversantion. & yes he is shy.

Five years and you still haven't figured it out? Just ask him about it. He doesn't seem interested unless he shows signs of being shy.

I know the whole five year sounds weird, like I know everything about the person like favorite colors and stuff. Yet I feel like I do not know this person, I can't figure him out. It reminds me of myself because it takes me a while to talk to someone as friends.
