What are guys thinking about around the 10 month mark?

i know that the first few months in a relationship are important, and people always say 6 mo is an important turning point.

but what happens if you made it through all those months and now you're at 10 months? what are most guys thinking? (for example, marriage, engagement, promise ring, breaking up etc)

Hello Laura, I can try and help. First thing I would suggest is for you not to count the time you've been together. In my opinion and experience, I find it to be much of a jinx. When you get into how many years, months and days you've been seeing someone, it causes you to commit one of life's major mistakes, and that is the act of making projections, mainly against you partner. You start asking questions like the questions you have now. " (for example, marriage, engagement, promise ring, breaking up etc)" Everyone of these you named, are the ingredients for projections.

For the most part, depending on how your relationship has been, men are sorta running on autopilot. For women, this may make you feel lost or in the dark with the relationship. But a good way I would try to help you understand is this. If you've ever driven long distance, and had the chance to experience trying to maintain the same speed by engaging your foot on the gas pedal, pressing in and having to let off, to maintain speed, then having the benefit of cruise control doing it for you, then that would explain where your guy may be at 10 months. No one would be questioning why you're using cruise control, as everything would actually feel pretty smooth a ride.

If you guys have had problems, and these problems are causing you to wanna ask these questions, then you and him should talk about it. Ask him exactly what it is you wanna know. (not about marriage, engagement, or a ring; that could scare the sh*t out of him, depending on where he is in his head about you two). But you wanna be clear on whatever it is that may be bothering you or causing you to ask questions.

Now if he is all about you, for you, and about you, he will, with no problem at all, clear up any and every question, doubt or concern you have. But if he can't help you be clear, and understand, so you can feel secure about you and him, that's red flag, now you know #1. You can't make him, or change him. If a guy is all for you, there is nothing he wouldn't do to secure your feelings.

So try that, and remember, keep it 100% with yourself first. You "Know" more detail about your situation, than anyone else. So always listen to "you" and remember, always love "you" first. Any other questions, fell free to ask. Be safe one luv...

I don't think guys think any of those things after ten months.

I think that the guys who do any of these things at ten months into a relationship do it because their significant others pressured them into it, and no other reason.

Guys are not prone to wanting marriage quickly. They are patient about that. Yes, they may want it. But they are not willing to rush marriage.

Also, I think a fair bit of us are brain dead, and we won't ever think about it until she punches us in the face, tells us to propose or she's leaving.

The choice is yours, in terms of what you want.
