What do you do when someone unattractive keeps giving you glances?

I'm only asking this because there is this exceptionally attractive woman that I feel such a strong desire to look at or even be around. Staring is not what I'm talking about, but short glances that are frequent enough that she couldn't possibly have missed my interest in her.

At first I thought she might be interested but since she works at the gym where I see her it might be she's just being nice to everybody there.

Lately I've gotten the impression that she might be a bit bothered by my glances. So my question is; what would you do if you were in her situation? Assuming she/you don't find me attractive enough to be of interest.

When I've been in this situation myself, i.e. when a girl keeps glancing my way, I've usually just ignored the girl by looking as little as possible in her direction. Is this what girls (and other men) usually do too?

If a guy stare/glance at me and I'm not interested, and if it's not affecting me in any way, I would not care. But sometimes it could make the girl uncomfortable if you don't talk to her, it's uncomfortable to feel that you're being watched, or that your moves are monitored by someone. That's how it feels if you don't smile or say hi to the person. If you're sharing common space why look and not talk. sometimes watching someone and not talking to them, can tell the other person that you hate them, you think they're weird,creepy, rude, dress weird...etc

timing is very important in initiating conversation especially if they can see that you're watching/glancing /starring. A little while after they notice you're glancing you should start talking to them otherwise it gets weird and creepy.

if we realize he's watching us,& we like him, at some point we think within ourselves:" make a move or stop looking" which is why she may look bothered because we are human being & she can fall for you because of your interest in her; but you 're the one who started the glancing, then you're the one who should make the move. Don't want to be imposing on somebody's space if you're not planing to make a move,it's not ethical. It also gives the impression that you're a player.

if he is just staring normally I wouldn't do anything, if he is being all drooly and stuff I would give him the nasty eye

if he's a creep I would stare with a mean face if not then I just ignore the person.

There's an unwritten rule against flirting at most gyms..and if she's really attractive, she probably is tired of all the admiring stares and glances she gets!

I imagine it doesn't bother her; you're just one of many. She'll just ignore you quietly, the same way you ignore the girls who you don't find attractive.

I would usually just do the same as you. Try not to pay any attention to the person. Short of being completely rude of course.

There's nothing wrong in looking. I don't mind guys I am not interested in looking at me. But I don't know a guy likes me just from looks. We don't read minds you know :)

no that kinda freaks me out I leave the area if I can... and girls don't go to the gym to get hit on, not normally at least

I see you point but one could argue that girls don't go anywhere to get hit on. If you bump into someone you like, then you do. I can't see why the gym would be especially taboo for it. You know you share the same hobby at least ;)

maybe but from my experience it always goes down bad at gyms. but if you go to like a bar or something girls are more likely to be nicer

I would just give the guy dirty looks if I think he's a perv, or just don't pay attnetion to him.
