Did my neighbour just ask me out? How do I proceed from here?

Hello I would Please appreciate some input in this.

I live in a four story apartment building, and one day I met this friendly neighbor of mine and we just chatted and he asked me which floor I lived on and so on but he never asked my name or anything. One evening I just bought groceries with my sister and he happen to be right behind us, and my sister did mention my name at this time and told me to just move a little. SO I believe that is where he learn t my name hence I never mentioned it to him and I do not his either. and then a few weeks later, I happen to be waiting for someone to pick me up and that is when him and his son I believe walked in and he told his son to say Hi to Ana which happens to be my name and then as he was entering his house he looked at me and told me " we should catch a movie sometime" I was shocked and just frozen for a few minutes and smiled back. But I'm just unsure how to proceed after this or what I should do? or what he wants from me Thank you!

Well I'd say he's defiantly interested! He picked up your name without you telling him so he clearly pays attention to you. He's also playing the classic cute little kid card ;) he wants to go out on a movie date with you!

There's really two ways you can go about this. If you're interested then maybe go knock on his door and get a proper introduction and take him up on the offer. If that's to forward then next time you see him say no and strike up a conversation and go from there. I think it's your turn to kind of take initiative to talk since you probably confused him by just smiling when he asked you out :P

If you want the date then make yourself available :)

If you're not interested in him you could just kind of ignore him which will be hard and could just make him try harder or you could get better aquatinted and let me friendly neighbour know that you aren't interested in a relationship right now.

Take your pick! It's all up to you, he's interested in you so take it or leave it. All in all I wish you the best of luck :)
