Why is a guy a coward if he doesn't ask women out?

Question

I've been called a coward, a p***y, boring, and every other name in the book. All because I won't ask a woman out or approach them and no amount of peer pressure will make me do it. Half of the women I see in public (attractive and unattractive), I don't even know them. Why would I ask out a woman I don't know? It isn't gonna happen. It's not my thing and never has been. I also don't chase women, it's childish and I'm an adult now. Why am I a coward? Is it because I'm not kissing women's ass like most men are these days? What is it?

People call you a p**** because traditionally you are acting like a woman wanting to be chased and being coy or whatever it is you do. People calling you boring has nothing to do with it, that's just a personality flaw apparently.

I don't see that speaking to other human beings as childish. I don't see being ambitious and a go getter, seeing someone you want and going for it as childish. I think whining on the internet about what people call you is childish, but not being the aggressor in a relationship.

If people don't like that you won't approach a woman that is their problem. If you don't care about having a girlfriend or a wife or a family than you shouldn't care either. If you don't give into peer pressure people calling you a coward wouldn't really matter because you would be confident enoujgh to know that you were in the right. I don't drink and a lot of people admire that, a lot of people don't do I care? No, because it's my body and I don't want to. You should take on that attitude when it comes to people calling you names because of how you behave or what you do or don't do. People should get lives and stop talking about yours.

Well one reason you ask a woman out is to actually get to know them. So it's not a bad thing on not asking whoever out if you're actually not interested to them in any way. That's not being a coward, it's more like not being a pervert especially nowadays lol. Though at some point , if someone lucky interests you make sure you do something and not get stucked with that "not your thing" thing. unless you're gay of course that's a diff. story

Depends in my opinion he's only a coward if he doesn't ask out gals because he's afraid as it takes fear and not doing something because of it to be a coward to me.

When I was younger I remember girls acting like it was creepy to ask out a woman that you don't know. They made it out like it was shallow since the guy clearly just found them physically attractive and doesn't know anything about them. You seem to have the same unhealthy mindset.

You ask a woman out in order to get to know her, not just to have sex with her. If you don't ask a woman out then you will never know it her inner qualities are a good match for you. Most commonly guys don't ask girls out because they are intimidated. That is why the get called cowards. If you really just are not interested in pursuing a woman then that is not being a coward, however it will limit your dating pool of women.

I would say that asking out a random woman is the best way to sort out the crazy women, because the women with man issues are more likely to think approaching a woman you don't know is creepy, than the women that have a healthy view of men.

It's a shaming tactic - like one of the male AU's said: Women depend on us to make the first move, but when we decline to do so, they'll hurl all kinds of insults at us (gay, wimp, etc.) just to get us to feel inadequate...

and guys (usually stupid guys) call non-approaching men "cowards" for misguided reasons as well...

And you're point to not asking out a woman is what? Then by golly be single for all your life, no one really cares. Be a coward, don't chase woman because they don't want YOU either!

I consider everyone a coward for being afraid to go after what they want (unless the person they like is taken, in that case, back off, haha).

I've been a coward myself many times. But not every time :-)
