Black guys, what makes you approach a white girl?

I love all races, though I am particularly attracted to black men (very much). Many guys approach me on the street, though fewer black guys do. My only straight black guy friend told me its cause I don't look like a girl whose into black guys. He also says I am very desirable and the perfect body in his culture (not slim, or thick, but curvy and toned).

Why do so many black men think only certain types of girls are attracted to their race? And what are the traits that make you believe she is attracted to black guys and why? I heard this analagy from so many black guys online when I googled it. Also, could there be other reasons they are not approaching me?

Okay so turned out I just needed to put myself out there more and not worry about it. I went to the mall with two of my girlfriends today, and lots of black guys came up to me trying to hitting on me, so e really cute ones too. I feel much better now, thanks to everyone who answered! :)

Black guys are just that...guys! Just because they're black doesn't make them any different than men of any other race. They will approach women they are attracted to. I've been approached by guys of many races and coincidentally my current boyfriend of 4+ years is black. He hasn't treated me or acted any different in the dating process than any other guys in my experience.

Maybe you just aren't as "desirable" as you think you are. (Really not trying to be rude, it's just a thought, I mean no offense by it). Or if you aren't around any black guys then there's none to approach you. But sometimes you can't really expect random guys on the street to approach you. I've actually never been approached by random strangers, they've all been men that I was friends or acquaintances with first. Of course, that is just my experience with dating, I'm sure plenty of people get dates who are just random people they meet.

So, since it seems like you don't really know that many black men to begin with, maybe YOU should approach the ones you find attractive. There's nothing wrong with the girl making the first move. Sometimes men (of any race) feel that the girl won't be interested in them so they don't even bother with it. Personally, I think anyone who is interested in someone should stop being afraid and approach them. Men and women should step up and work for what they want. So since this is what you want, then go out and be the initiator.

In case you did not read my full message, I am approached A LOT by men of all races anytime I go somewhere and also with friends. Men often shout comments on my looks toowhen I go places. I have even had guys chase me down on the street or in the mall to come talk to me and ask me on dates. Like I said, black guys are no different than any other guys. I've been approached by many black guys and I often get told that I don't "look" like I would be the "type" to like/date black guys. So obviously it depends on the person. Maybe *some* fear that the white girl will not want to date them but in my experience I find that to be false. So again, like I said, maybe YOU should just approach them if you find a guy attractive. Guys don't have to be the only ones to initiate contact.

If you want black guys you have to go where they are.

I'm a black girl but for the longest I rarely got attention from black guys. I'd get it from guys of other races, but not the guys I wanted. That was until a lightbulb went off in my head. I looked at my style of clothing (white girl chic lol) and my surroundings. I live in the suburbs with 80% white ppl, no wonder I wasn't getting the guys I wanted. So I started going out to more black areas and clubs and now I am dating guys I could have only dreamed of.

You can't only hang out in white areas and expect to get black guys. I used to go to Top 40 clubs but there were not many black guys to choose from around. Now I go to hood clubs that play rap music and I can pick and choose from these dudes.

If you're in Toronto you should go to some dancehall parties.i've heard the Caribbean dancehall scene is really big there. Go to malls, restaurants in areas with more color lol

Maybe you don't have that look like with some people you can tell they stick with their own even just in their circle of friends.

this black guy you asked sounds like he doesn't quite get it. guys approach people they are interested. perhaps if they are shy they will be hesitant to do so unless they an idea that you like them. maybe try to give more signs to the guys you like that you like them OR just approach them.

for me being a black man I am often hesitant to approach a white girl because I have no idea how they feel about me simply being black. fortunately most men don't have to wonder if their race alone is going to influence how a person views them, but I think most black men do. Some don't care about that and will approach regardless but others (myself included) often don't know how a white person will react

I'm sure there are sterotypes for all races thinking only certian types of people will like them. I try my best not to think will this type of person like me because of how they look/act because I don't know who they are or what their likes & dislikes are.

Honestly, I don't think it has anything to do with how I look. My one friend is from the carrabean and always tries to get in my pants I have to tell him no all the time. He has a bunch of friends and they always make all these comments that they find me attractive. My friend likes me so getting to know his friends isn't really an option and would be mean. In the end, maybe I'm just not surrounded by black guys enough. I rarely see the single good looking ones when I go places.

It depends how she carries herself, and which culture she's most influenced by. For example, if it's an east Indian girl, and she carries herself very traditional to her culture, I'll assume she won't date Black guys. Same with White girls.

If she dresses real clean and preppy, doesn't listen to hiphop/rnb, is (Hate to say it) uptight, we'll think she won't mess with niggaz basically. But I agree with BA that all that goes out the window if you put yourself in a place that's mostly Black folk

Did it ever occur to you that your informant could be wrong? Misinformation leads to bad questions, you know. You might actually not be desirable. Furthermore a few black men I've known during my time tell me that there's a huge stigma within the black community about dating outside the race and that it pretty much earns you infinite ire.

When you are attractive, you k ow you are because of what you see in the mirror, also because so many people are always commenting on it and you get approached A LOT by guys everywhere you go. My point was that I'm a good looking girl so looks aren't the reason I am not approached by black guys. Every guy I dated was white, except for one who happened to be black. I found that I had to force myself to enjoy kissing them etc even when they were very handsome guys. Nono, it had nothing to do with their performance. Its just that I'm personally just very attracted to many features and qualities various black men tend to have. By build, well from my one experience he was just very firm and muscular everywhere, lower fat percentage. And his bones were just so hard, its hard to explain. It did affect the way he moved too though, was very different. Don't worry too much about it. Its just my personal taste, for al, I know I may find a white man I'm attracted to
