I like my gynecologist

Question

My previous Dr. ( for nearly seven years) was a decrepit old man who was friend of my parents. Two weeks ago I decided to go to another doctor (had a minor infection and didn't want my parents to know) When I arrived I was surprised by a young doctor ( about 40 years usually in my country doctors are around 60) and he is really handsome (sounds like a p*rn plot but its real). I would like to ask him on a date or something but I feel it would be very uncomfortable (basically seen me naked a few times). I think he likes me too (he had me go to his clinic one time per week )

would it be creepy to ask him out?

A doctor can date you if he wishes but he will not.

More than likely he will not make a move.

What do you have to offer him, I can tell you for a fact he will not be into you for sex. Can you imagine working and looking at vaginas all day long? What he sees is old and broken toys. If you have had many sex partners he will know it, the uterus may have a tooth with whiskers growing out of it, boy that is a real turn on.

I was in med school and it is not what you think. Every woman wants a piece of him and some just come in for their weekly adjustment. It is just like a teen boy coming in for an exam and resident is attractive, she touches his arm and out pops the weasel.

What I am saying he is dealing with broken toys all day long and depending upon what type of infection you had, all you will ever be to him is a patient.

It's unethical for a doctor to date his patients--especially a gynecologist.  The doctor can get into trouble with his medical board, possibly causing him to lose his license to practice medicine.  The American Medical Association also frowns on doctors dating former patients, so even finding another doctor first and then dating your former doctor may cause problems.  I'm sure it has happened many times in the past, but these days a doctor has to be extremely careful.  It's not worth throwing away a career for a romance.  Most likely he will turn you down and may even suggest that you find another doctor...

Contrary to the beliefs of those who have answered no he won't get fired for dating a client (in most cases of course, there are always special cases), unless you were underage. On the other hand it may not seem very...professional to do so. I suggest that you let him make the first move. It would be awkward to ask him being that when you see him it's typically for a "checking up" down there. If you run into him at a store or such then by all means ask but do it outside the office!

You would have to find a new doctor and stop going there as it would obviously be conflict of interest.  It would be weird, I guess, but it could happen.

Honestly, I'd forget about it and go see a another new doctor.

It's highly unlikely (especially in his particular field) that he's gonna date a current/former patient. I mean, if he did and word got out, it could really do weird things to his reputation.

i think you'd have a better shot if you waited til you weren't his patient. most doctor's will not date patient's simply due to the ethical dilemma. but if you weren't a patient then at least a part of that dilemma would be non-existent
