If she says she's not ready to date, does that always mean she's not interested?

There's this one girl in one of my classes. We've started to hang out in the last week or so. Today I asked her out. She said she's not ready for a relationship yet, she just broke up with someone. But she said she thinks I'm awesome and wants to hang out more.

I'm a bit confused. Is she letting me down easy? There definitely seems to be some interest there. She sticks to me like glue and treats me differently than other guys.

I don't think you can assume she's not interested. if she just got out of a relationship it is a legit reason not to jump right into dating again

it is possible that she's not into and the "not ready" is an excuse or it's possible that she just sort of being single for a bit. I would think that if she hangs around you a lot and seems to like you just be a bit patient. show her you like her and perhaps soon she will change her mind.

I would suggest not putting all your eggs in one basket (as the saying goes) and still pursuing other girls if there are people you are interested in. this will do two things. 1. not make you seem hung up on her...2. show her that if she does like you she can't wait forever to decide to make a move

Good question. It can mean that she isn't interested in dating, but most of the time, its that she simply needs some recharge time. Think of it as that you just took a big math test, and somebody asks you to take another big math test. Chances are, you would say that you just took one and need some time. Don't beat yourself up over this. Just put the dating on hold until she is ready.

Yeah. I would just let her take her time, and don't bug her about it. Chances are, she will start to act a little more 'affectionate' towards you when she is ready again.

Being she just just got out of a relationship that most likely had gone south like two birds, she is being honest in telling you she doesn't want to get Right back into the swing And---wing--- of another one just yet. Although she likes you and wants to hang out with you More, is telling me she wants to get to know you better and start out as friends first.

She is interested in you but breaking up with someone (if it was a bad or sudden breakup) can be emotionally taxing, like having a pet or close friend die with constant reminders of them flying all around you. What she needs is time and encouragement, listen to her when she need some one to talk to support her and make her feel safe and let her be herself, she will come around in a few weeks.

I think she is interested, she's just trying to figure things out again after her break-up. She doesn't want you to just be a rebound relationship so she is taking time to figure things out for herself again. She wants to make sure she is completely over the other relationship before starting another one.

No! She is interested but simply not ready. Give her some time and try again. She clearly is probably attracted to you but if she broke up recently she is still upset and also if she did say yes then you would probably be her rebound

That means she really likes you and is interested, but it's too early. So just keep on being nice to her, show her that you appreciate that she's with you and she'll love you for it ! The worst thing that can happen to a girl if if you want to show a boy that you're not that easy to get and then he just stops being interested and tries it with the next girl

Well, there should be something. I've been there with a guy I like him so much but turned him down coz I'm not ready. Sent him mix signals. My point here is if a person is not ready she's not ready. There's nothing we can go all you gotta have is patience which most guys don't want... They're like on to the next right away.

If she starts spending less time with you after you asked her that then she is just trying to let you down easy.. And if that's not it you might be her rebound or her shoulder to cry on. Give it a little longer ask again and if she still doesn't want anything then you're her back up.

Not always, it can be letting you down easy. Or maybe her interest in you is more friend like. Or maybe she does like you and the fact that she went through a recent break up and just doesn't want to start something right away.
