Well, if you are just drinking it, and not with food, yeah, reds! Malbecs, some Merlots. Don't much care for Chiantis or Cabernets, unless with food, Italian, or good steaks.
Don't ignore the fine white wines, though, as they are wonderful, with some of the lighter, white cheese sauces, and pasta, and a fine bread.
Neither, I don't drink alcohol. Not even during special occasions. It might be because of my fitness goals. I value these goals more than temporary happiness (I'm not judging those who do, it's just my personal opinion that I will not be who I am if I drink alcohol)
Thanks for the mho
I like both taste wise. They are different so depends on mood and what type of food I am having. However, my body prefers white wine, since red wine can be hard on my stomach and give me worse hangovers/headaches.
The downside to red wine for me is the acid reflux
I only drink red. Pinot noirs, and merlots if I'm feeling cheap.
Whites are too sweet for me. I like the depth of reds.
Had a glass last night with the goulash I made.
I love goulash

As a general rule, white wines cannot offer the same potential for complexity that red wines can.
They have a shorter lifespan, so can rarely profit from proper cellaring.
However, I'd suggest the question is not terribly meaningful. Colour is far from the most significant quality in a wine. Personally, I strongly favour varietals over blends, and although I rarely drink white (horrible heartburn), I expect I'd prefer a good white varietal to a poorly blended red.
Thank you for the wine lesson
Red for sure. There are so many great varietals and even blends.
I drink whites very rarely. If somebody offers, I'll have a glass before dinner. Or a nice chilled glass can be refreshing on a warm day. The same with a good quality rose' or prosecco.
Neither. I have a very sensitive sense of smell (and my father & his brother a sommelier). I find the scent of most wines too fruity. Sweet. Not appealing.
Cooking yes. But usually can't handle anymore than a sip of wine before giving the glass back (mum tries to get me to try hers every so often, never works).
I like both kinds and I drink both kinds depending on what I eat. For just drinking, I prefer a dry white. However, the full body of a good red is excellent too. White doesn't stain like red does...
For my wife, she'd sing this:
I don't reeeeeeaaally drink.. Like maybe a few glasses a year... but I like Sherry.. it makes my cheeks warm and my underwear loose 🤣
It's why I don't really drink because I get real slutty with myself real fast
Lmaoooo fair enough
It depends on the meal and the wine.
I love a noble late harvest white with a sweet dessert. Then again a good chianti is ideal with flash-fried liver because the meat has such a robust flavour.
A good Red Muscadel as an evening glass is as welcome as a Hanepoot.
And yes, I do enjoy fava beans...
Red for me. White gets gross after a while. Smells like ass. Sorta tastes like it too. Like a vegan one.
Lmaoooo
I don't think people can actually get drunk on white wine. It says something about alcohol here and there. But I drink the whole bottle and I am fine. I just have very bad breath after. But I drink whole bottle red wine and I am not fine. I wanna put my head between naked woman's legs.
Red, all day. I hate beer, any vodka-based drink and white wine. If there's gonna be any alcoholic drink for me, then it's going to be red wine.
I'm having some budget Merlot right now if you'd like some! ;)
Lol actually have a bottle of carlo rossi on chill right now. Waiting for work to be done
I accidentally clicked red but I order white. Lol I had a bad experience of drinking 4 glasses of wine way too quickly when I was 18 and inexperienced and ever since then the smell makes me want to gag 500 times.
Love love love red wine. My mom and I have definitely had our share since lock down.
Lol sameee
Red for beef braiding or drinking, white for sautéing vegetables
I'm gonna assume you meant braising lol. But yes
Well this is a let down. I was up for some beef braiding
Lmao I love it
Although situational, generally I prefer white. Nothing comes close to beating the combination of seafood and good glass of white!
Red fits better with a steak though, and Rosé fits best on it's own.
I find red gross but we use red to cook. White is better in my opinion. I have only ever had a tiny sip though so it could be different if you were actually drinking it.
Red, I don't find white wine to have much taste to it. Maybe an expensive bottle would be better but I don't like to spend a lot on wine.
Where in the worldare you from?
What's the best red you've ever had a glass of?
I hate alcohol I would rather smoke weed if I was trying to get the same type of effect cause it doesn’t have negative consequences to it like alcohol does
I don't drink wine to get drunk. I don't like the way smoking weed makes me feel.
So why would you drink wine then?
I'm not that much into wine in general except for cooking, but if I have to I'd go with white.
I'd really prefer mead over wine though.
I drink a lot more white wines than I do red, mainly because New Zealand makes some of the best white wines in the world to export.
I drink red like merlot or pinot noir when I'm having Spagetti or with a medium cooked rib-eye steak, but generally Sav Blanc or Chardonnay or Pinot Gris, sometimes Prosecco.
White wine, tastes way better and doesn't give you excruciating 24h long hangovers like red wine
Lol I've never gotten a headache from any wine but apparently it's a thing
Omg the hang over I had when I had too much red wine was the worst thing ever. I had the spins within like an hour of drinking it 🤢
I don't like wine but if I do drink, then for sure red
I prefer white in this case, but rose wine is best.
