I grew up in a Catholic family when we were not allowed to eat any meat but fish on Fridays. And I think all my mom ever made was frozen fish sticks.
I'm over that. LOL

Seafood is my favorite thing. I LOVE shell fish - lobster, muscles, scallops, shrimp, crab, clams, - but other kinds of fish, too, both ocean and fresh water.

I don't live near the ocean anymore, so I haven't been to an honest to goodness fish fry for years. But I do eat seafood regularly. There are a few really good places nearby. wonderful Cioppino, one particular Italian restaurant that has great seafood dishes, a Mexican restaurant that has some great seafood dishes, a Caribbean restaurant, really good fish sandwiches made of deep fried cod (I'm not talking about chain restaurants).

I wish I could visit New England more often. OMG!

Last time I had some fried fish with a at a restaurant called Long John Silver's in Staten Island and I live in the Bronx. Since my grandfather refused to drive me to the Long John Silver's in Queens. It was only an 18-minute ride but he just complained and I wasn't interested in hearing his complaints. But I love the Boneless fish they have over there and I got myself to Big fries.

Where I live in Canada, Wednesday is the day our restaurants offer discounted fish and chips and I love eating it but our whole family is trying to lose weight so we only eat it once ever 3-6 months.

Well, I can tolerate (but not really afford) a decently cooked fillet piece of salmon, orange roughy nuked with a touch of lemon and pepper, tuna salad with 20 parts mayo and 1 part tuna- not much more than that, though. Forget about calamari (too anatomical), perch, bass, etc.

Now that I remember, there is a place near me that has a decent deal, you get a nice piece of fish, choice of potato, soup, roll and butter, and salad all under $10.00, it is called "George's Kitchen' on Triskett Rd in Cleveland.
