First time we tried cooking the Turkey in the microwave took much longer than planned. All the other food was cold when we finally got to eat the bird. This was many years ago... since the, Turkey has always been in the oven.

Yeah, we had a t-day where the oven wouldn’t warm. Neighbors were done with theirs so let us use it. Also one when I was a small child and my mum’s back went out, my sister was twelve I think. She did it all herself with my mum walking her through it.
Still hope. You can rock it yet!!

I have been in a situation well with my cousin got a drug issue
she uses crack , on methadone , benzos, and me is just Mental health
I know my situation should be different and I need to get a place
without her, well for 2 days, I had to feed her habit but until this
morning close to noon when she was going to our cousins for
Thanksgiving you know it's hard to live with a drug head who
doesn't want to help themselves it's sad, now the vehicle is
on empty, all cause she was supposed to put $20.00 in the tank
I have no more fucking money so she can walk to the methadone
clinic or hitchhike hey she's been on the streets I'm sorry about your
Thanksgiving and I know what hell I went through for 2 dam days
she bought $50.00 of crack yesterday and suppose to only buy
$20.00 and spend the rest on gas for the vehicle so now she's
out of ice cream oh wow and Wish a Happy Thanksgiving Day

Thankfully nothing quite like that, although I've had overcooked turkeys and delays because the bird didn't thaw as expected.
Is there a plan B should the SNAFU become a MFU? (Major FU).
Things could always be worse. It could be a CF (Cluster F) if everything becomes completely discomBOOBerated.
We were going to have dinner around 6 PM. A while before that it was noticed that we were short of pie filling. Suckily there was a store near us that was open, so we got the filling and baked the pie. But then when the timer went off, we decided it did not look quite done, so we stuck it back in the oven to get a couple more minutes baking time... Then forgot it. Close to a half hour later we noticed it. So it was burned around the edges and not the best tasting, though not really bad.
We never had that issue but we once had people not show up for a planned party leaving us with extra food. I don’t think it was Thanksgiving though and my mother lost the super classy liquor they got us, I think it was a creamy, holiday version of bailies. I found it eleven months later but not sure if it’s still drinkable.
That is tough. I always keep a full tank in my shed so when I run out I just change tanks. Good luck buying propane today. I think even Home Depot is closed. Maybe a gas station or convenience store might. have it. You will have to "rent" the tank so it will be pricy.
I remember one year, mom believed dad was getting the Turkey, dad thought mom was getting the Turkey, and obviously we ended up with the parents trying to get a Turkey, AND defrost it immediately! I think we ate dinner at somewhere around 11:00pm!
Had a power outage during Thanksgiving when I was growing up. The turkey was finished on the propane grill. It turned out well, but we were sorely lacking for sides.
Bad time deep frying turkey. I was scrubbing oil off the patio in 45 degree weather.
Closest I had was a tire coming off my vehicle while driving the night before I was supposed to leave and drive 6 hours to Thanksgiving with extended family.
I had this funny thought one day that if the turkey could talk, it would say. "Thank You for
inviting me to Thanksgiving. If I knew I would be the dinner, I wouldn't have shown up" 🦃

My USA girlfriend in UK was going on about it so much I shut off and completely forgot about it, oops!
Whoa. Literally the worst day to run out of propane. I think 7-11 has them and they’re open all year.
