What’s your favorite thing to bake?

I love baking chocolate chip cookies with my mom, they’re so soft and chocolatey and delicious ☺️🤣

Baking is my ultimate weak point along with sweets/sugar work. They demand precision whereas my stubborn side wants to go by feel. My wife tends to be the baker between us whereas my specialty tends to be sauces and soups and such.

Yet I've been practicing making pizza dough for the past couple of years. I've achieved some degree of consistent mediocrity at it! :-D I've also come to enjoy kneading sticky high-hydration dough when I started off cursing so much when I first tried. Now I find it relaxing.

Besides pizza dough, I can make a decent roti, Yorkshire pudding, French baguette, Brioche, and also crème caramel. I want to learn how to make naan but my last attempt ended up very poorly.

It's lemon pound cake, and it's similar to the banana bread (the texture and shape thing). I like it, but I think not everyone might like it because LEMON 🤣 I was scared to try it the first time my sister made it, but then I become obsessed and asked her for the recipe. I do it often now 😂 It's good haha

🤣 I’m the opposite, most of the time I’m like “Oh wow that’s different, I’m gonna try that” 🤣 Although sometimes I do end up disliking whatever it was anyways 😂

Ghen30's Chocolate Chip

1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup butter-softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet (or more if you want)

Directions: Use a mixture to cream butter and sugar. Add egg and brown sugar, vanilla, baking soda and salt. Mix again and add flour and blend until combined. Add in chocolate chips and use a spoon to stir it in. Best to refrigerate for 1-2 hours, but you don't have to. Make sure your oven if preheated to 375. Use a mini ice cream scoop to place cookies onto parchment sheet on tray. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about a tray of cookies.

I hope you enjoy! Each individual cookie is around 92 calories.
