How good are you at opening cans with a can opener?

the most difficult thing I ever had to do in my life when it comes to activities to do in the kitchen! Like oh my gosh! I can not open a can using a can opener smoothly to save my life and im not even left handed! I dont know what it is but i can never get the angle right and I end up opening it on both the side and top and only by an inch... what the hell? SO I always give up and and end up opening it the barabaric way by using a knife and sure enough that works like a charm. Sigh...😑

We have an electric one, which is easy to use. I am also fine with a butterfly one when we are camping.

I loath the ones that cut round the side of the can. Makes the opened can like a circular razor blade.

Not brilliant.

It seems to me that the most significant factor is buying a tool which isn't made out of crap, so far I have mostly failed in this regard and continue to use the one which has play in the joints and is a little awkward to use.

I would never open a tin as depicted though, thats really dangerous so if there is anyone out there doing that, please know there are better ways.

Fortunately these days most cans have a ring pull, which sometimes can be just as bloody difficult to open.

Being of the lazy type, we actually have a battery operated can opener for all other types of cans.

We do not use a can opener because we rarely buy canned products and it is not necessary to open cans with a special opener as before. the lids are not as hard as before and they have a round part to open the lid. When you pull it out, the can opens very easily. so at least that's how it happens now in the country I live in (not America). If it wasn't for that little piece to open the can, I would try to open it with a can opener, albeit with difficulty.

Okay, I guess. I used to use the manual one all the time and I were good at that, because I didn't know how to use the one where you twist, but now that I do, it's rare not to get a pretty clean cut.

Most can openers are made for right-handed people. Therefore, at a young age, I decided I would become rich and force those right-handed people to open cans for me. That's what you get, rightie!
