In our area (Southeast US), many McDonalds restaurants have self-order kiosks... the only interaction you have with a human being is when they deliver your food. They're used for inside dining, not drive through.
At the Kiosk, you pick the food you want, customizing your order as needed, and pay with your credit or debit card. You take one of the numbered pylons (lower left in the picture) , enter it on the kiosk when prompted, and place it on your table. Your food is delivered to you a few minutes later. Note that you can still order from a cashier but sometimes it takes a few minutes for a cashier to appear because they are busy filling and delivering food orders.
Are these kiosks common in your area? If so, do you use them?
