Are self-order kiosks at McDonalds common in your area?

In our area (Southeast US), many McDonalds restaurants have self-order kiosks... the only interaction you have with a human being is when they deliver your food. They're used for inside dining, not drive through. At the Kiosk, you pick the food you want, customizing your order as needed, and pay with your credit or debit card. You take one of the numbered pylons (lower left in the picture) , enter it on the kiosk when prompted, and place it on your table. Your food is delivered to you a few minutes later. Note that you can still order from a cashier but sometimes it takes a few minutes for a cashier to appear because they are busy filling and delivering food orders. Are these kiosks common in your area? If so, do you use them?

Yes, most of South Korea has these in stores. However, I rarely go to McDonalds. Last time I went was maybe a month ago and that's because someone at work wouldn't shut up about them supposedly "changing" the Quarter Pounder. So I went to the nearest one, some 40 minutes north, in the rain, and got a Double Quarter Pounder meal, just to find out nothing was actually changed!

Yeah, Korean McDonalds tastes pretty much exactly the same as American McDonalds.

But yeah, the self-pay kiosks are common here and I prefer them over the cashiers since most of them won't speak English and I don't like talking to people anyway.

Of course and I wish Drive throughs had the same thing. I don't see why they couldn't just put them there rolled down your window tap on a screen not hard.
They are the best thing and are needed in greggs and all other food places. A big plus is you know what you cannot get, no more ask for a milkshake then them having to say sorry we don't have them. You can just look and see. And obviously not talking to a human is way better.

They don't even have a person inside that can take your order anymore, its all Kiosk and its stupid cause you can't use coupons very good with that, or do the specials cause they hide them in hard to find places.

Its all about the most expensive stuff being easy to find and order, but the value menu stuff, BoGo or anything to be cheater is impossible to figure out. Easier to leave, get in your car and go to the drive through.

I don't see them in my area, but again I don't eat MacDonalds as often as I used to. I think the last meal I had with one was a few years back.

I was at McDonalds today and realized how times have changed since I was in high school. Back then, it was choice of drive through or order at the counter. Today, you can order from the app, order through door dash, order through the kiosk, order from any of the tables in the restaurant, order at the counter and order at the drive through.

I also am in the southeastern US. I do not eat at McDonald's but I was in one recently because I was with someone else who wanted a breakfast item from McD. As I recall, they had the kiosks.

They are becoming common at MDs here in central Florida. At first, I didn't like it- just like I didn't like automated checkout at Target or Lowes but skipping interaction cashiers saves time.

Mcdonald's isn't that common here I think there's only 2 in the county. Only been to one and it had a self order machine

Yes but we don’t use them I like to order at the cash register and coach the cashiers up make sure the fries are hot and fully loaded and I don’t like pickles in my quarter pounder with cheese

No they are not available where I live. But I would not eat at McDonalds, I've never found their offerings palatable.
