Why are sub sandwiches so expensive?

I was just thinking about ordering a sub from Firehouse subs and then I realized the prices. A 12" sub costs over $1 an inch! Really?

Five Guys is even worse. A little hamburger, a little fries, and a regular drink cost $15.57.

What's worse about those subs and 5 guys burgers is you pay through the nose for food thats killing you, or at best detrimental to your health. The 12" subs and fast food burgers each average close to 75% of your total daily allotment of sodium and raise your blood pressure putting you at risk of a heart attack and/or a stroke.

Firehouse and Five Guys has always been overpriced.

subway and baldinos still have fair prices.

Yeah. It's a nice fresh Burger as compared to McDonald's or something like that. But it's nothing to write home about. But I will say I love the cajun fries.

I mean many reasons, inflation being one. Food prices have gone up due to shortages as well. I'd like to say the workers are getting paid well but that's unlikely so we'll put the rest down to corporate greed

Oh yeah those sub prices are outrageous. Subway, firehouse, anything... lol. With the smallest meal possible it's at least gonna be 10$ 😭😭 and even the sub itself is expensive

I don't go to those sub speciality places. You can a pretty good sub here in PA from Getgo or Sheetz
