What happens to the bread not eaten?

At a restaurant that serves bread to the table… assume it is not fully eaten. Do you know what happens to the bread?

ideally, by law... it goes to the trash

you cannot "recycle" bread that has already served at a table, and who knows what happened to it...

you can't donate left overs already as it is considered "tainted"

what you can donate is bread that's still packaged even if not "fresh for the day"

but sure, there will be restaurants here and there that might reuse some of that bread one way or another... lol

No idea, but i know for a fact that a lot of Mexican restaurants reheat and re-serve leftover tortilla chips.

Animal feed producers buy it or if it's not sold bakery product it ends up as breadcrumbs.

They serve it to somebody else if there are no bite marks on it. At my house we use it to make breadcrumbs out of.
