Maybe my palate isn' t sharp enough but I never really liked the taste of champagne. I truly don't understand the hype and the pricing. What's your opinion on champagne?
Is champagne overrated?
depends on which brand, are we talking about just French champagne or the "brutes"...
Other than that to me it is ok... I'll drink it to celebrate it and I could finish off a bottle... but to drink it like a good whiskey, beer, and so on... It is not worth it.

I don’t like it either because it has a green apple taste and I despise green apple. I think people are just fixated on the way the bottle is typically opened and how bubbly it is

Some Champagne brands have specific taste but usually if I get a glass I'm expecting taste comparable with sparkling wine for $3,50 from Aldi.
