I cook for myself, on a professional level (as a former chef). Maybe not top level, but everything I cook tastes great and has good presentation, and I also consider nutritional value, cost, quality ingredients, and can whip up something delicious with very little effort or thought just given whatever I happen to have on hand. I don't really think about what meals I will make when shopping, I just get some fresh ingredients and make do. Here's a salad I tossed together:

and a quick stir fry (also with the imitation crab, I was looking for ways to use it)

It was delicious and honestly I have a little bit of an issue with going out to restaurants because usually the food is decent but I prefer my own cooking mostly for the nutrition aspect as a lot of unhealthy ingredients are used in meals and I prefer more pure foods, like the raw salad pictured above. I didn't make a dressing, I just had it as is, with a little fresh squeeze of lemon on it. The stir fry has Romano fine grated and a little sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, but it was cooked in a small amount of pure unsalted butter. Restaurants (I know because I've worked in a few) tend to use a little extra oil, fat, salt, because it makes the food more flavorful, but it's not as healthy as I prefer.

I still do enjoy many restaurants for what they are, even with the extra fat, processed flour, &c. But I also have moments where I think "why am I paying $20 for this plate of food that I could have made for half the cost, and it would have been a lot tastier?" That's also knowing how I enjoy food, there are subtle things that a chef gets spoiled about, such as getting the food at just the right temperature, just the right amount of tenderness to cooking. It is a disappointment to receive for example a fried egg that is over or undercooked, or was sitting and cooling for 5-15 minutes because the server was busy with other customers (I get it, servers get busy, so I'm not mad at them; but still, that doesn't make my food taste better). An overdone steak, or a cold one, that's another disappointment. When I am at home, I know I can have it just the way I like it. The above skillet as another example, I slid it directly from the skillet to my plate and was eating it piping hot, with a perfectly fried pair of eggs that took me another 60 seconds.

I can cook, and prefer to make food myself on most days. When single I don't care too much about the presentation, just focus on taste. Still nowhere near my father's skill level, who cooks and bakes all kinds of foods and cakes whenever he gets inspired.

I can cook. I’ve never killed anyone or started a fire so I’d say I’m good. Never had any complaints either. But I’m not a professional by any means. And I don’t cook for large groups. My family or if I have some guests over.

I am blessed in that regard, thank god. I am quite comfortable in cooking various cuisines, including with various restrictions (vegetarian, Vegan for example). Homemade pizza, roasted chicken, lentil soups (any soups for that matter), and many more. I can also make quite a lot of deserts.

The best part I like is, I can actually cook quite good "sick meal" (meal you should eat when you are sick) in short time. It makes the recovery faster and also I can cook for others when they are not feeling well.

It might not be as delicious as like top resturant, but it is delicious enough.

On a one to ten level, I can cook at about a 3 or 4, which is stuff like mac and cheese, spaghetti, grilled cheese, eggs, etc. I don't cook that often though, cause Korean apartments are really small and some don't even have kitchens. Back in the US, I was mainly a sandwich and cereal guy. I think cooking is mostly for people who live in houses or have the time to spend an hour cooking, plus washing dishes, and I've rarely had time like that. Not to mention, my cooking sucks, like I said. Wish I was better at it, but I'm not. Closest thing here would be option G.

I can cook, my parents divorced when I was fairly young. I stayed with my father and he wasn't over the road truck driver so I was responsible for my own meals. I took home economics in high school. Learned how to cook some more stuff. I love cooking. I just hate cleaning up

I'm far from professional chef, but I can cook about 3 dozen dinner meals and common breakfast meals. I can also bake a number of common things - bread, cake, cookies, biscuits, etc.

I'm definitely not in the league where I can invent my own recipes, but I certainly can follow one, and the food that leaves my kitchen is good.

My real specialty is the BBQ grill. I cook a lot of meat during the good weather months.

I can cook quite well... but I've got this electric stove that is sub-par to a real fire... makes the job difficult.

but as well we've located great ethnic foods which we order out. Columbus risked an ocean to get to better food, I just drive down the street...

My mom does the cooking for me. And we have maids to do the cleaning work.

My family has always told me to just learn cooking in case I need to go out of state or even abroad. But I just don't feel it. Maybe I will learn in the future. But in the meantime, I wash dishes really well.

I can cook and get roped into it frequently. It comes from being one of the better cooks in my family. Also by having a mother who somehow cooked a turkey that was burnt on the outside but still frozen in the middle. So learning to cook growing up was a requirement.

I am between B and C. I can cook a few things that are not too complicated. I do make the best hamburgers in town. I make them out of ground sirloin and and cook them to perfection on my grill. i usually get a few slices of bacon too. I get these extra large rolls from the local bakery and toast them.

When I was in high school I learned to cook Cantonese dishes. Then while I was in college during my summer vacation breaks I worked as a senior cook at Zion canyon resort. Served alongside a chef. I would say i can cook but i much rather bake. I would say my cooking is relatively good but I usually bake macarons, entremets, and any other challenging pastries since I find it pretty fun so my baking is definitely more chefs kiss haha

Was taught to cook by both of my grandmothers, It was regarded as a basic skill irrespective of sex, as I live alone I batch cook and freeze portions separately, as for recipes I have the family cook books to refer back to if needed,
