Quite thick. The thicker they are, the more tender the meat will stay in the centre. And with beef, you don't have to cook completely to be food-safe. So I like not too large in circumference, but nice and plump.

@AmandaYVR I was so tempted to use an often used phrase here from "The Office".
- +1 y
@AmandaYVR it’s Steve Carrell. The phrase is: That’s what she said” 😂
- +1 y
@AmandaYVR that’s definitely “what she said”. Lol. I can one up that though. When I’m grilling I make sure there is pink on the inside of the meat and I place a long sausage next to it.
- +1 y
@AmandaYVR 🤣🤣🤣🤣
- +1 y
@Msputiton I’m still in awe of you for taking down a certain person recently
- +1 y
@AmandaYVR you're fine. You 2 are just having fun🤣
@jpresidente he started to take it too far. I'm fine with mild flirting. But he began getting extremely explict with things he wanted to do to me. - +1 y
As long as it’s juicy in the center that’s what counts😆
- +1 y
@Sixgunsound no doubt. Gotta love when ya get it nice and juicy

It’s the best😝

I use a simple burger press I picked up my local bargain store, I can’t remember how much it cost me, but it’s so quick and easy to use. The thickness is preset by the device itself, but they’ve always turned out okay for me.

@PrettyPriya oh dear, this might get fun
- +1 y
@PrettyPriya Bun length or standard length?
- +1 y
@emiliamazing What you mean jellybean?
- +1 y
@PrettyPriya you can buy two different lengths of hotdog buns in the United States. Because there are two different lengths of hot dogs/sausages.
- +1 y
At least in our neck of the woods, those are available.
- +1 y
There are only TWO lengths of wieners in the US. Yikes. I have to recalculate some things I say here.
I always like the largest wiener. Feels good in the hand and mouth. - +1 y
@PrettyPriya Obviously the length and size will vary from meat market to meat market, but my statement still remains fairly accurate
- +1 y
Huh, okay. I’ll just have a taco instead. Simplifies everything. @SecretsofKB has me hooked on tacos anyhow.
- +1 y
Sorry for being so on top of the question!

@bigpauly
Do you like burgers? - +1 y
@bigpauly You are part of the "in" crowd! There are sausage lovers, taco lovers, and burger lovers all right here on this thread! I certainly enjoy all three.
Separate point, I'm pretty sure that burgers are called "Wimpys" in the United Kingdom. I'm wondering if anybody knows the history behind that particular name. - +1 y
@bigpauly hi five little buddy!

4.9K opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. Maybe a half inch thick. I try to squeeze the middle so it doesn't get too thick. I make them Xtra large and get these big rolls from the bakery.
11 ReplyIt depends on the meat I'm using for the burgers XD.
If its a pure exotic meat I'll make them thinner
If I'm using a cheap burger mix I'll mix a ton of spices in and make it thicker.10 Reply
+1 yNever made an effort to measure. Whatever the patty press default setting is.

It’s getting a little cold to grill in New York right now. There are some crazy people who grill when it’s snowing, but I don’t have infinite charcoal to waste.

All I know about the measurements are she says oh my God when she swallows😆
+1 yI don’t like it thick simply because I’m not a huge fan of red meat like that…

+1 yA burger should be about a half pound and 25% bigger around before cooking than the bun. That’s a FAT burger if you buy the cheap buns at the store. Ell oh ell!

+1 yMaybe about an inch thick, I like to put a lot of lettuce, tomato, and pickles on it inside of a bun, any thicker, and I would be able to get my mouth around, lol.

+1 yMine are about 3/4" thick. I mix chopped turkey in with it and season before I make burgers. I cook them medium rare on the grill.

Yes I do.
- +1 y
I mix 1 lb of chop meat and 1 lb ground turkey with salt free bread crumbs, 3 eggs, chopped onions, garlic salt, parsley, and Mrs dash original seasoning mix it all together. Then I make my pattys and put an "x" across the top with bacon strips. Then I cook them on the grill

I've made them for parties and everyone loved them

+1 yDepends. Grilling or cooking on stove. Hamburgers are amazing. Usually a big patty and if I’m making for more people smaller ones
10 ReplyNever made them. But my mom and dad make them like an inch thick and put chopped onion in them. Yummy. Now I’m craving one.

- +1 y
@PrettyPriya... so what you're telling me is that this is BIG question for us to consider?
- +1 y
@snowedin Not anymore. I am just going to eat taco from now on. Simplifies any size issues.
- +1 y
@PrettyPriya oh wow. I've been bested! :) Tips hat in concession to the gracious mod. Well played; well played.
