Every once in awhile, sure. For you all who pull the "health" card, do you have kids? Because kids demand a ton of time. Between full time working, house chores, homework, after school activities and sports... by your alls super diet logic id be cooking dinner at 10pm to ensure they get something healthy.
My kids eat the occasional fast food and are a healthy weight. All things in moderation.
Yes, but rare

only if you want unhealthy fat kids to form bad habits and turn into unhealthy fat adults.
emergency situations are ok, like there's really nothing else.
it's not just about burning calories as some ignorant person suggested on here, it's about the complications it causes to the heart most importantly above many other problems.
For this you can see many FIT adults and even children who eat these foods and don't look necessarily FAT as I posted above but they will likely have some sort of clogged artery or some other life threatening situation that is caused directly by ingest fast food such as diabetes, that's not to say other foods don't cause it but lets be real, the more fast food you eat compared to someone who eats something cooked at home that's not a healthy meal, the fast food still takes the ticket to ruin your heart faster.
Having said that, even when there's people who can eat junk and still not look so fat, MOST people who do eat that, ARE fat, and all of the alike fat or not still pose a heart disease risk higher than those who don't have a habit of eating that.
I think having fast food every now and then as a treat should be allowed. Like when I was a kid, I was allowed McDonald’s if I did well with my report card once a term, or if I had broken a bone or accidentally injured myself, mum would take me to the hospital to get fixed up and then get me McDonald’s on the way home to cheer me up. I think children 5+ should be able to have takeaways.
I don’t agree with giving your kids fast food everyday, or every week though. Kids need a balanced diet.
It doesn't matter whether you're male or female. Learn to cook!!!
In fact, learn a lot of skills and not just cooking!! Having a lot of skills is very helpful in the long run and will make many things much easier for you!
Do not feed your child fast food once a week! It isn't healthy! Feed them foods that you cooked especially foods that have many vegetables. Get them used to a healthy balanced diet.
You have no idea how disgusting fast food meals are made. I once worked at a fast food pizza restaurant. Most of the foods there are frozen and we rarely used any dishwashing liquid to clean the dishes because all we used is heat. In most cases, the "cleaned" dishes still have food stains. It's honestly disgusting!
Fast food owners are not there to feed you properly! They are there to make money!
This is an easy one.
YES.
When? As soon as they can eat.
How often? A treat. Once in a while. I'm not going to get backed into a specific periodicity.
Why? It allows them agency over fun. It can be a bonding experience. It makes them normal among their peers and that's priceless. And because a life of perfect healthy stuff can get bland.
It is fun food to eat.
and it is good for girls that want to have a nice figure in their teens.
I was looking at some pics in my dad's year book and mom told me back in the 1980's, that only 2 girls at his HS had boobs bigger than a small B cup.
It is the fat in the fastfood that saturates your body and promotes good development in puberty.
I did not eat most fast food, so i had a skinny figure and small boobs. I was an A cup for all of my teen years, and a small B in my 20's.
My sister, Anna, ate fast food all the time. She is my height, but very chubby and at 12yo, had C cup boobs. She is in her mid 20's now, and she is a DD easy.. and has not been breastfeeding either.
Fast food use to be a treat. Now it's a staple. It will make you fat and unhealthy. Parents have gotten lazy, and kids are suffering for it.
Not sure if I would pass laws. Just educate parents. Have doctors and guidance counselors give the parents grief and back them up when the parent gets mad.
They're kids.
I definitely enjoyed being a kid because of the Happy Meals and the included toys inside I got to collect!
I ain't robbing my child of that if I could help it! Soon enough they'll find out how shitty adult life can be, but right now, BASH in the glory that is childhood lol.
Fast food is easy to search, reach and eat. But it is barely healthy. I would let them eat it, get unhealthy, letting them learn through experience, and then guide them to become healthy again for as much as I can.
Children rarely listen to their parents, is what my experience is. So instead of shouting them, using varying methods, I believe, it is just efficient for both the children and the parents to let the children learn through experience.
Whether a child eats fast food or not is a parental decision snd not something that is to be legislated or enforced by some outside policing force. It is beyond my comprehension the things that people think the government should be allowed to intervene into a Families business and decision-making.
It's crazy you know. When I was a child growing up in the UK we had none of these kind of restrictions on children and what they can and can't eat and we maybe had one fat kid in the class if we were lucky.
Now it's the opposite the UK are putting all sorts of restrictions on what kids can eat and can't get they are fatter then ever it's actually a rare site now to see a healthy sized child
No. It’s “junk” food for a reason. Unless you wish only the worst for children, why would you give them junk, let alone feed it to them? You should have to be over eighteen and show identification to eat fast food. It’s well documented that eating that shit daily is worse for you than drinking or smoking pot daily; both of which you are not permitted to purchase or consume without legal age identification in the US. How the hell does that make sense if not for corrupt government?
A happy meal is smaller for a reason. Like any place if your ordering the child version it will be fine. Even get a fruit in a happy meal.
Though I am also the person who at 10 eat two whole catfish's with fires, a whole pizza and plenty of ice cream from all you can eat buffet. I always had a big appetite when younger so a child version never fed my hunger.
Of course- the only possible harm it can cause is if it's eaten constantly, in large amounts, and the ensuing calories aren't burned off.
The idea that FOOD is somehow "harmful", in and of itself, is a luxury only those who've never had to go without can afford to indulge.
I've never taken any of my nieces & nephews to any fast food place, especially when they visited me in the US, I always took them to a local restaurant/diner that did superior food to anything that a fast food franchise produced.
You do realize a burger at a sit down restaurant is loads of calories more than a big mac right? Less sodium and more protein, sure. But calorie wise, its usually worse.
I don't want to be anything other than what I've been tryna be lately. All I have to do Is think of me and I have peace of mind. I don't want to be anything other than what I've been tryna be latelyAll I have to do is think of me and I have peace of mind. I'm tired of looking 'round rooms wondering what I've got to do or who I'm supposed to be Idon't want to be anything other than me.
One of the reasons why America has some of the highest obesity rates of the 7 continents. We love our sugar, salt and genetically produced food.
Have you ever asked what's in your food? You be surprise what corporate food regimes are feeding you and it ain't food.
It's interesting how people talk about if children or dogs should be allowed to eat certain things, and yet no one really wants to talk about if adults should.
We hold our kids and pets to way higher standards than ourselves.
But in moderation if you live on it it's not healthy, but as a treat occasionally I t is not harmful. You need a variety of foods in your diet every day from the different food groups. A balanced diet is important.
Yeah occasionally it's okay, with occasionally I mean like once every 2 to 9 months lol
We are a family that does cook at home, so it doesn't happen often that we go eat fast food, but if we do it's totally fine
I don't think anyone should be allowed fast food.
I wouldn't give my children fastfood. I also don't give myself fast food. I'd rather cook my child a burger and fries or chicken nuggets at home.
Fast foods are terrible. There is zero nutrition in most of them. Kids need to learn how to cook, not eat at fast food places. No wonder so many kids have diabetes and are overweight, shame on the parents for being lazy
Yes, but common sense applies. It shouldn't be a staple of thier diet. I remember when I was a kid all my friends would be taken to Mackey d's on the regular. And I always thought it was fine dining which is why my parents hardly ever took us. I didn't realize that I just had better pare ts then my friends who actual cared about my nutrition.
Yes they can have fast food, just make sure they are active and you watch their portions and talk to your kids about food and what is healthy and what isn't.
No. It's impossible to upkeep balanced diet with fast food alone. Obesity or malnutrition, there is no other option while eating fast food as main source of food.
moderation will prevent any real and substantial harm...
definitely shouldn't be a daily thing for anybody... child or adult, lol
Maybe sometimes for a treat but for the most part no since fast food isn't real food
Yeah. everything is okay in moderation. I would never feed my child fast food everyday. But she eats it maybe a couple times a month. all she gets is a kids meal which is small.
To be honest, no!
just no. It's total crapola... engineered.
ditto for candy bars and stuff. It's garbage.
Fast food is pure poison. I wouldn;t take my kids there until the age of 18 haha. I'll eat anything and sometime sneed to gain calories for weight training so i'll have fast foods here but only because I'm burning it off
Sure every now and again McDonald’s was much better when I was little and a big reason for that is I only had it sometimes
I know women who feed their kids fast food almost every day no wonder we have an obesity epidemic
I had this stuff as a kid but I only got fast food maybe three times a year MAX!
as a treat, yeah. they're less at risk of getting clogged arteries or whatever than adults are.
Personal opinion, No. Bad habit to get into, and it can continue for a lifetime, and early health problems.
Absolutely. Refusing kids food simply because it's not that healthy is in itself unhealthy. They will grow up and start buying it on their own and pig out on it because they were never taught moderation.
I think it's okay as an occasional treat whenever the parents are going there - maybe once or twice a month?
allowed, yes. but obviously we will give them way better choices because me and dad are big foodies. there's better "junk food" out there
I didn't mind myu kids eating it once in a while. I say leave it up to the parents.
I wouldn’t give em fast food. I’d tell em it’s dangerous poison made to taste good to injure kids because it is
Only if the fast food is raw fruits. Fruits are fast to make, ain't they?
Nanny state bullshit, stop worrying about other people and worry about yourself…
Of course. Like candy…in moderation. Just know it’s all loaded with sugar. So tomorrow is all greens.
Fast food should be illegal for everyone, not just children.
In moderation it's ok. Maybe like a treat once in awhile but not all the time
I don’t think so. But that’s to the discretion of the parents. Not anyone else
I don't think so. Teach them how to eat better things.
Of course. That is the time to eat it. As a youngster.
As long as it's only once in a while and not everyday, it is fine.
They should be allowed fast food in moderation. Perhaps once a week not every day
Maybe once in a blue moon, But every week? Absolutely NOT! Its so cruel to feed a cute and innocent kid toxic chemicals :(
Most of it hardly qualifies as "food" to be fair.
The sodium, carbs and fat content will give kids diabetes in n o time.
Sure the sure every now and then but certainly not every day
Sure every now and then but not every day. Kids need healthy meals to give them the vitamins and minerals they need to grow up healthy and stronge
It's not the governments or fast food chains to babysit your kids or any kids. IT'S YOURS
As an occasional treat, sure. Not as a frequent normal meal though.
No more than 2 meals per week. It’s expensive now too.
Absolutely not. It should be illegal to sell kids food that doesn't promote their health.
Yes, as soon as they can eat regular food. I grew up on fast food and was skinny until I went to college. Apparently I am not good at balancing a diet. At least not as much as my mother is.
I love Popeyes, McDonald, Wendy's, taco bell etc.
As an occasional thing? Sure.
In moderation. Yes
Allowed? Yes. Should they? Absolutely not.
