Mizeria it’s called & it’s also known as Polish Cucumber Salad. A few years back I went to a food truck event & I always like trying new things so I ordered a sampler plate with so many delicious things on it & on the side there was Mizeria.

Fruit salad is another one on my list & growing up every Thanksgiving my family, aunts, uncle’s, cousins would get together at my grandparents house & eat, have fun. In addition to making a killer turkey my grandma made fruit salad & I loved it so much & I think it’s more of a memory for me as well.
Outstanding question by the way & thanks for bringing back a few memories as well.

When I was in school, they'd serve this strawberry marshmallow fruit salad. Only bad part about that was it was sometimes too cold. But definitely better than those frozen blueberries in high school, they didn't taste good.

It was a little tiny fruit cup & I do remember the strawberry marshmallow stuff or at least we were told it was marshmallows. Thanks for the MHO’s.
- +1 y
You're welcome. I think ours had strawberries & blueberries then mini marshmallows.

I remember on taco days I would crush up the tacos mix it all on my tray & dump the fruit salad on it as well.
- +1 y
I never did that. But my high school made good bean & cheese burritos. I always got 2 of them.

All this food talk I’m getting hungry.

Yup. I can hardly eat anything. But that's why I make these so I can distract myself.

Mizeria looks like Tzatziki.
- +1 y
@Guardian45 As for me I just looked up Tzatziki & it looks really close & the only difference is yogurt I believe.
- +1 y
Ok. What's in Mizeria?
- +1 y
@Guardian45 Sour cream, vinegar, salt & pepper, dill & sugar.
- +1 y
Okay. Bit different, but still sounds good.

Tuna salad. Pretty good.

I've never had that before. I once had a cold tuna sandwich, but I can't remember if I had liked it or not.

- Buffalo tuna salad: I make this by first laying romaine lettuce on the plate, then grape tomatoes, shredded cheese, croutons, buffalo tuna, drizzle some hot sauce, ranch dressing, and then pepper. I had a pickle spear on the side
- Greek salad: Romaine lettuce, feta cheese, olives, banana peppers, croutons, and Greek dressing with pepper
- I also have my version of a garden salad: lay some romaine lettuce i either a bowl or plate, add grape tomatoes, shredded cheese, croutons, dill pickle chips, pepper, and ranch dressing
- Taco salad: Tortilla chips, ground beef, iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded Mexican cheese (Kraft), jalapenos, Taco Bell Mild Taco Sauce, drizzle aome hot sauce. Sour cream is optional but I rarely add it. And if make Spanish rice I might add in their but it depends on my mood.

I think the taco salad definitely sounds good. But I'm not a beef person so I'd probably replace it with chicken or beans.

+1 yI like basically all salads but my favourite is the caesar salad with chicken and the poke bowl which is basically raw fish mixed with avocado and sesame and rice marinated in spices and seasoning. I do not know if the poke bowl counts as a salad - it might be considered another form of sushi. I also like burrata cheese and tomato salad.

I like caesar salads too. But I prefer house or chef salads if there are any.

Another salad I really like is this salad with vinegar and fish eggs and cucumbers and lettuce and carrots. I used to eat it at a buffet and loved it. I don't know what it's called now.

For some reason I remember salads that I've had. Kind of odd that I do, but I guess it works if you want to copycat them.
- +1 y
The salad was not a traditional salad recipe so but it might have been called a garden salad with fish roe which is another word for edible fish eggs.

Sounds good though.

Cucumber-cream salad. Fresh cucumber chopped in thin slices, small onion, spoon of thick Greek yogurt, sweet cream, white vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar, fresh dill.
Simple coleslaw. Finely chopped cabbage, grated carrot, salt, sugar, white vinegar, half of small onion, table spoon mayo, celery powder.

Opinion Owner+1 yIt's not for everyone. Some people don't like raw fish. But it's worth a try if you think you might like it.

I've never had raw fish. Only thing I've had raw is caviar (red fish eggs). Which reminds me of the time I had a red caviar omelette and sushi roll.
Opinion Owner+1 yMmm, that sounds good!
