
What can you replace the olives with on pissaladière?


I'd go with cherry tomatoes.
Olives taste horrible to me. Eve those big, delicious-looking Kalamata olives taste disgusting.
My wife loves olives. Most people do. Over the years, there have been times when I wondered if my taste buds had matured. But no. I hate the taste.
It's weird because I love olive oil. I even love puttanesca sauce.
When I first started dating my future wife, she invited me to her place for a home cooked meal. She went out and bought the choicest ingredients for a spaghetti and went to a lot of effort to make the perfect meal to impress me.
When she served it, I was horrified to see big, plump Kalamata olives in the sauce. My future wife was crestfallen when I picked all the olives out of mine.
We still joke about it, but it was awkward at the time.
Olives disgusting? Maybe I'm a barbarian to love them. Well, tastes are difficult to discuss, but the first thing I can think of to replace them is cherry tomatoes as someone else already mentioned. Little cheese cubes wouldn't do probably because they would melt away in the oven. Maybe some vegetable as celery cut in pieces the size about of the olives? Or cauliflower which can be very esthetic?
Maybe cherry tomatoes or mozzarella balls? I have no clue. Only time I ate black olives was on a frozen veggie pizza that had it as part of the sauce. It wasn't too bad but that's the only time I'll eat olives. Other than that, they are gross.

Too bad, I like olives. But if you don't like them, how about replacing them with bits of sausage? Or, if you want to stay with flora, how about cherry halves?

Have you tried mushrooms? And, if you want them to have a smidge of flavor, use portabella ones and marinate them.
Green olives are great and much more flavourful them black olives so use green olives and capers along with the traditional caramelized onions and anchovies.
There is something wrong with your taste buds. I would keep the olives and get rid of the anchovies.
