Yeah. I 5think it is best added as a garnish. Sometimes I'll have 3 sauces adding marinara. It creates the same colors of the Italian flag... green (pesto), red, (marinara or bolonegese, white (Alfredo.)

If you ensure the pesto stays on top so it doesn't Strat to turn your Alfredo sauce into a khaki soup. I think the dish tastes better with the sauces separate also as I can use different ratios, making different flavors.. Hmmm, seems like I've got some juvenile habits. Good luck. Yes. And yes! It's of the same order of adding some chili sauce to a tomato sauce: you already have the basic sauce made, and you are just adding more spicy complexity to the flavor. Our favorite is a basil pesto, sans the pine nuts, thank you.

A lot of people think that is a good combination but, everybody is different so there is only one way to know if you will like it!

I would start w a small amount of pesto and see what you think, and then you can add more if you want. Pesto can overpower the alfredo if you overdo it tho. JMO good luck!

You absolutely can & when you mix Alfredo Sauce with Pesto as a result you get Creamy Pesto Alfredo Sauce which is delicious & I think I will make that for dinner.

Thanks to your post I went food shopping & I’m cooking dinner a little earlier. I’m making 5 cheese tortellini with Alfredo sauce, pesto & red pepper flakes added in topped with fresh basil & Parmesan cheese. I’m either going add in chicken leftover sausage or kielbasa & who knows maybe both.

I do it all the time... wife and kids love it. I add black pepper, diced garlic, and an entire bag of spinach. Then of course chicken thighs diced up and cooked into it. Pesto is just a nice addition. I do it about once a week, so trust me... it works just fine.

Oh and mix pesto with butter and spear that on french bread, then sprinkle it with garlic powder and toast it in the oven... I turn my family into slurping pigs.
