during basic training at Lackland AFB in Texas we often had fried rabbit for mess. It was pretty good from what I remember and I bet fried muskrat would taste pretty good too.

There's a taco joint in Seattle, and they have rabbit tacos. I was in Seattle for some mindless mandatory training. But on the weekend, you were just stuck there. The training wasn't in
Seattle, nor was our hotel. We were South of Seattle. The hotel had a free shuttle bus, so I asked the guy to take me to the light rail station. He did, and the all-day ticket was dirt cheap. I traveled up and down Western Washington, and even though I hate what Seattle has become, I got off there. and went down to the pier. It was so cool. There was a guy with an African grey parrot, and the parrot did tricks. But when I got hungry, I went into a taco joint. When I saw rabbit tacos on the menu, I was sold. Who could turn down rabbit tacos and a cold Hefeweizen? From the window you could watch ships coming into the Sound. I'm just not the type to sit in the hotel room and watch TV. I never turned it on even once.

Yes, I remember getting intrigued about his story and discovered he a looong mile to go before becoming the giant that KFC is today.

As for the muskrats, my region's rivers are infested and some restaurants have started to catch and cook them. Never tried muskrat myself, but those that did told me it's quite good and you couldn't say what it is from the taste.
