I don't normally use any flavourings as i want to be able to taste the meat but I don't think these are mutually exclusive, are they?
Rosemary is added while cooking and the mint generally takes the form of a sauce so couldn't you have both?
I'm not sure what people do or what 'standard' is.
I have had an enjoyed both before but I don't remember if I have had both at the same time or not.
I had a Portuguese girlfriend at one time and she insisted on covering the entire leg of lamb in essentially my entire spice rack, it was completely caked in all manner of spices.
It was ok but it's not for my British mouth nor do I want to buy a new spice rack every time I have lamb.
I've just gone off lamb for a couple of years, but I liked mint, never had it with rosemary, in fact never even knew about it. Not that I know much about cooking. That's why I like eating pussy, you don't have to bother about cooking it, you just shut the fuck up and eat it, and must say it tastes divine raw, that's the beauty of it.
Bear leek, lovage, few juniper berries. I don't like rosemary and I like just one mint leaf in Cuba libre.
It definitely has to be Mint Sauce.
