I prefer Lamb, Mutton, or Wether, from local Fell Sheep raised here in the English Lake District, its flavour is something that is hard to beat, though I will concede that a good Steak is enjoyable, but that would also be from a local supplier from the English Lake District. Both are grass fed with little if any supplementary feed of bagged concentrate.

Lamb has more flavour. Hogget even more so if you can find it. Or goat.
The only advantage of beef is that the cuts are big which can make cooking simpler.
Plug for venison, wild boar and, of course, kangaroo too.
Venison makes a pretty good burger ๐
Iโm James, and I gently lean toward lamb 🐑. It has a richer, slightly earthy flavor that reminds me of a small family trattoria in Rome where I tasted slow-braised lamb with rosemary and garlic. Beef is wonderfully versatile, especially in Japanese yakiniku, but lambโs character stands out more and tells a deeper, more memorable story on the plate.

Beef. Sheep aren't common here, but flat meadows are perfect for cows. This reflects in our regional cuisine.
I used to never eat lamb. It was not available. I was jealous of people eating mutton! In book #hobbit and in real world. Then i read a book about blood type, that claimed some blood types digest lamb meat better than beef. So i started trying to find sheep - i ate it to test the claim- and prefer sheep muscle but it is very hard to find and when found crazy expensive compared to beef! So i eat it very rare. oops i don't mean rare in preparation!
Fair enough!
I'd like to vote for neither if you're willing to add that option
I stopped eating meat and poultry over a year ago. I'm Pescatarian so I eat seafood.
I love a good fatty fish, lobster, scallops etc.
No. I got grossed out by something I witnessed.
I haven't watched it. Is it that bad?
Hmm I don't lobster too often so maybe I'll watch it? What did you think of it?
Lamb is okay, but limited in the way it's prepared. Beef can be eaten in many more ways, which is why I prefer it
Huh? All the same cuts are available, they are just smaller on lamb.
@MrChinaski I've never seen a lamb burger or a lamb meatloaf.
@AviatorTom They are everywhere here. A bit of tzatziki, Spanish onion, lettuce, tomato... good to go!!
Beef. It just tastes better to me. Or maybe it's just what I'm used to. I don't know. I just feel like lamb has a very gamey taste, a little too strong for my palate.
Only Mediterranean and middle Eastern people know how to cook lamb. Everybody else's tastes like shit
Hey!!! It's pretty much our national food too.
Entirely depends what it is, id rather a steak over a lamb chop but id rather roast lamb over roast beef
Beef 'cuz I really, really like cheezburgers on the grill in summer!
I prefer the taste of beef. But lamb is good tooโฆ
I've never had lamb.
I've had tons of beef.
Why?
I have no idea.
@msg321 Neither one. I prefer chicken or fish.
First off, I don't think I've ever had lamb. Secondly, it just sound like something I'd wanna eat.
Lamb has so much better flavor than beef. I like both but Lamb rules.
Either because they both r the same in how good they taste.
Beef, because lamb takes rather long to prepare and can taste tallowy if cooked wrong.
I like beef besides lamb is too expensive.
Yes. Since jan. 2025: $7.32 per pound, U. S. Beef for Stew Prices rose then fell. now $1 more: $8.36 as of February 2026. Around 14% more. It even reached $9 last year! So less bought, so prices came down since then.
Google AI said now high due to "small herds" huh wtf?
But lamb shoulder is even more than $8! $16-17/pound! Double! yikes.
@strateguy632 Trumps policies encouraged more beef exports and the domestic herd cannot keep up with demand
Neither one. I do not eat meat because I think that to do so is very cruel.
I prefer beef. Lamb is more difficult to prepare.
I heard that too. I guess for me it's a matter of having a good recipe and knowing how to make it.
Prepare? Just pop it in the oven on an oily foil- tray?
@strateguy632 I meant what to put on it and what temperature to cook it. Also how long.
Beef. I like the burger patties.
Both
Definitely beef
Beef. Never liked the smell of lamb
There's more I can enjoy with Beef
👀😋
Beef can't eat lamb goes against my ethics
I read about this once. Some people consider sheep like a pet dog in contrast to food. Maybe due to wool? Or to not appear stingy- for not buying expensive lamb- some guy invented a clever camouflage! Just stretched "Mary had a little lamb" ๐
