Medium Rare for me
@Mamasanma Not raw at all. Medium rare is brown on the outside and warm pink on the inside. Easy to chew and very tasty.
I always ask for medium rare or medium well. But in the end, the waiter brings me the steak on the crispy side. Till one day the chef got it right for medium rare and honestly, I didn’t like it much.
True steak chef never make it well.
If it's top quality rib eye steak with lot of intramuscular fat I prefer medium rare. If it's normal steak I prefer medium
Medium rare. I would say rare, but if someone else is cooking it, sometimes they'll barely cook it all and it's still completely rare.

Damn, i guess medium rare is super popular. I like it medium.
Knock its horns off, wipe its butt, sear it a minute on each side then put it on a plate.

Whatever is a bit pink but doesn't leak the meat liquid.

My parents always had meat well-done, and that's the way I grew up with it. It wasn't until college that a date convinced me to try medium. I did, was surprised at how enjoyable it was, and have been medium or medium rare ever since.

@AviatorTom the problem I had was when I asked for rare…even in a high end steak house…. the waiter always gives me the look…(maybe no women asked for rare and they prob think that I don’t know she I’m talking about…but the chef knows his meat.. so it’s always right from the kitchen.)
I have sent back over cooked steaks … you can’t never undo an over cook piece.

@AviatorTom My father used to turn hamburgers into hockey pucks. He wanted to make sure all the bacteria was dead. I don't cook them that much.
A certain man in my house makes hockey pucks out of burger patties too.
@TrueConfection I cook them on the upper shelf on the grill. They don't get tough but they get cooked throughout.

One reason why my first marriage didn’t worked out. My ex mother in law used to over cooked everything on the grill. I refused to go to all the BBQs. She was insulted and that contributed to my divorce…can’t please my mother in law…but I can’t suffer eating dried burned meat till she dies…. so now…I continue to enjoy my chefs who knows how to make dried aged steaks with outer crisp and inside still blue.
My honey is going to attempt to grill dried age steak at home next week…so we’’ll see how that goes.
Any steak come overdone I will not return.
