Where have you had the best lox (smoke salmon)?

I have always had Acme brand in the states. Till I had the ones in Norway this summer. They ship different salmon to the US.

I can tell you that I catch it with my bare hands. smoke the shit out of it and eat it.. here is Sweden but I would be lying.. 😊 I think Scandinavian salmon is the best.

Agree… reason for my post. Really missed. We had the best up in Norway, Switzerland, Sweden. Was also able to get from France and Germany….
I love lox so much, and can eat a pound or 2 in one setting.
The really good ones here… they slice it in front of you is $5.00 to $7.00 a slice!!

Average American food is disgusting and high-quality food is expensive. I just saw a documentary about groceries prices - the same items often cost 100-200% more in the U. S.

Don't remind me. We packed up a whole suitcase of goodies. Things there are so much cheaper and healthier.
We do rather spend the extra money on better quality foods. From local farms rather than supermarket foods.
Its really sad what the govt. is doing to "feed" the people here.

I don't buy farmed salmon anyway.

That’s correct. Salmon is a good fish to try. And it is easy to make at home if you want to try to make it.
Cooked salmon is different from lox.

Yes NY has very good lox. They slice it from the whole fish!! The best!
